Yup. 5.5" wide.

71, flat black

Beat to fit, paint to match.

5.5" is too narrow for 205

It depends on your application.

It will fit but I wouldn't do it on the track. 205 is a hair beyond what should be installed on a 5.5 wheel. 195 is the max.

I have used 205-60-13 tires on 5.5 wheels for 20 years even on spirited canyon runs. Yes, they do bulge out a bit so that you don't get the optimum side load distribution of the tire wall but our 2002s are so light that the effect is not so drastic.

The problem is the alternative. 195-60 is too short and 185-70 is too narrow. If all you have is a 5.5 inch wheel, 205-60 gets you a nice combination of looks and performance.

Ideally, you want to go to 195-50-15 but 15X6 wheels with the proper offset with 4 lugs are hard to come by at a decent price.

I also have 13x5.5 rims with et18 ( is that positive or negative offset?)

I really want to goto 205's to help fill the fender flares and get some more rubber on the road.

Will soon be lowering a bit and adding camber.

What would be the offset range required to run without rubbing on suspension ect. I have turbo fender flares.

What is the widest wheel/tire that can be run on a stock 2002 with rubbing? I have a set of 6 1/2 Alpinas. Can I run 205/60 x 13 on those wheels without rubbing?

Thanks,

Steve

In my experience, FWIW, it really depends on your ride height, and suspension stiffness.. If you like to drive the car, 205s are cutting it uncomfortably close, even on an car that isn't lowered, and even with spot on offset. You will most likely get some rubbing on the dips.

195s are a very comfortable and effortless fit with the correct offset. -And plenty of rubber is hitting the pavement, I've pushed that envelope as well.

So is a 195/60 a proper size for a 6 1/2 x 13 wheel? I have been looking for a chart like they must use at tire rack but I cannot find one.

I do not think they make 195/60/13 tires...

I am buying 205/60/13 federals as soon as I get some extra money...They are going on my 13x5.5 ET18 Alpina wheels.

I am still interested in this thread... :)

Torn between 205/60 and 185/70

My ET18 5.5 x 13 rims throws my tires pretty far out and I think the 205 will put it over the edge.

I am running Korman Roadsport springs so I have minimal drop. I am going to run that set up for a while.

I am leaning towards the 185/70 tires.

LSD ran out of the federal 205 and I can find 185 70 for cheap (track tire)

at online tire....
