what a shame,not to restore the car to its original condition and take it vintage racing.

Since Standard White Pump gasoline of 102 octane is no longer available,I would recommend to lower the compression somewhat in order to avoid detonation issues.

Yes, this is Heinz Eckhardt the original owner/driver of this 1800tiSA! He contacted me after finding this post and we will soon meet and share stories...

Heinz contacted me to clarify that he did not work for Harry Weber but indeed had his own BMW dealership and raced this car mostly on his own dime. There's lots to the story but suffice to say that this car has an even better history than I imagined.

More to come hopefully sooner than later.
