Cause i wanted to find the best economical choice to go with and my decision is final. . .im going to rebuild the to my specifications but nothing too dangerous. Do you have any websites that you get your custom parts from?

i sincerely think you are not realistic, or has very limited experience.

300hp and "economical" are not two statements that goes together.

there is no web site that sells custom parts, since its custom, obviously.

Aim at more logic goals, you will get better results and will be less frustrated at the end.

Hi Wewo,

Welcome to the faq!

Are you doing all (or most) of the labor yourself? This will make it more economical to hit 200hp+.

I ask that because In the context of this car and the usual (and not so usual) engines used (m10, s14, m20 etc), 300hp+ will not be as easy as bolting in a monster motor.

The car simply was not build for that kind of power from the factory. Nothing on the car will survive for long.

Nothing is impossible, but one's goals should be realistic and attainable.

...and your project will be anything but "economical".

I'm assuming you have a 2002 in possession? Ask something more specific and technically related to your proposed project for us to take you seriously and to be more helpful.

Search thru' the many great projects posted on this site. (bigger engines, drivetrain mods, chassis reinforcement, etc) Learn from their admitted mistakes, that's one reason they posted it all here!

Do some research. Ask informed questions. Nothing wrong with ambitious projects. Just don't be fool yourself into thinking that 500HP will be cheap in this car.

Do you still have the engine that came with the car under the hood?

yes, why ?

its the original engine that came with the car when i bought it. everything around it is custom.

!!!!!!!!!!!!

You mean like the air filter hold down bolts? or maybe the electric fuel pump mounted on the head, or the "custom" location of the coil. If that is how the car is engineered I hope you have quality life insurance when you go to 300 HP.

LMAO. . .man i don't know wut to say all of these things you pointed were my father's doing before he gave me the car.

I am glad you have a sense of humor, and I am sorry to disparage your fathers work. I take it back. Good luck.

Here's what you do if you want an easily controllable ~300hp. Trade in the 2002, and buy an old school bus. It's rock solid, easy to control, and you can often pick them up for $500 or so.

at least I can form two sentences in English without 5 grammar errors.

but can you do that in french and the 4 other languages that pat speaks....

and what is your point to your ad hominem argument ?

Jump right in like you make a difference. Also not an ad hominem argument. I am disparaging the writer to respond to him calling me stupid, not to debate his logic or argue the point.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
