oh no!

definitely some wind last night. th C-17 i was flying in on could not land at andrews for over an hour whlie we waited for a window where the wind was within design limits. when we landed it was what military pilots refer to as a very "sporty" landing. (and a c-17 is a huge cargo plane designed for taking big things into scary places.)

Ok pics as promised...

So the roof line and the upper trim on my car was the only thing that was perfect, but not anymore. As the car port thing came up, pulling the 2 foot spikes out of the ground, the lower straps caught the car and took it with it. The car was upright on the rotis and wound up on its roof, creasing it where all the bars were. I popped out the ones that I could by just hitting it with my hand but there are some that will take a bit more work.

Over all a very bad car day for me. On my way home the car that I borrowed died on the side of the road. No reason, just bogged down like it ran out of gas and shut down. Left it over night, went out at 0700 this morning and it fired right up. Not my day...

A plus side to the day was that I got to unwrap my IE package of all my motor internals. They look so good. I cant wait to assemble my motor!

Hopefully I get the rest of the engine parts soon, and this nice weather holds out so I can get this thing back on the ground, wheels side down this time!

Oh and Marshall, has anyone laid claim to the purple shell? I need a nose and um... maybe a roof...

ugh. that is a bummer. i hope the shell didn't twist from the torque of the rotissserie.

First off... Marshall, I may be interested in the nose. After looking at the roof a bit more it is actually not that bad. I got most of the dents out and with a bit more work I think they will all be gone. As for the nose, I forgot to inspect it more. I know the lower portion is rotten along with the upper corners. I may have to come take a look at yours to see how good it is or if I should just patch and panel mine.

As for the update... not to much, just got a few more pieces of the engine in. I should hopefully be getting the motor back in a few months. Also just finished is the throttle body adapter from the 318i intake to the 325i TB. It came out great. Fits just like it should and looks awesome!

OHHH I hate you.... Sir.... but man how I wish I had your time! My car would be done! Im heading out on spring break this Friday and will be gone till next Saturday. So maybe the following weekend I will come out. I gotta see your place anyhow and maybe help with the M2. Hope all is well.
