  1. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Its very tempting but I'm going to have to pass at this price. I have so many other priorities with this car lol. Appreciate it.
  2. That's a wicked sound! Love it. Thanks for sharing.
  3. Thanks again for all this great info! Since I had my console out and apart, and modifying it I decided no better time than the present. Fixed my hazard switch tonight too, thanks to this great info.
  4. Any chance you have the center horn button for the momo (or know where I can get one)? I'm interested, but the horn on mine is one of the few things that works and I'd like to keep it lol. (edit: Horn button doesnt have to be Momo, any will do.)
  5. I prefer patina, and wish the PO of my car hadn't painted it. Painting it makes it too precious for my lifestyle. I don't like having to worry about people dinging it and that gives me peace of mind. But there's a difference between patina and just old junk. I think for patina to look right, it has to look intentional. For my car, my intention is to have the interior look well done, not junky, for the car to be well sorted mechanically, but I'll leave the outside as is with its little foibles. Also, with the finish on yours I would recommend TheSweetPatina products to make it look more intentional.
  6. Well, that escalated quickly. started as “Let me just pull a few of the screws holding side panels on and paint them.” Whole thing held together by hopes and dreams. Pulled it all out and in process of redoing it all. Not a restoration, just a clean up, minor repairs, etc. Took opportunity to add some brown carbon wrap like I’m using elsewhere. This will help tie that all together and break up all the black. I like it. still need to source some screws and U speed clips to finish it up. Just mostly mocked up at this point.
  7. That’s what I was wondering. Yes, I bled it today before doing the brakes again. Surprisingly clean, and looks pretty new. I’ll have to check my records but I think it was replaced shortly before this car was parked for 10+ years. I have one. Thought I read here doing it old school was better. Regardless, was nice to get my 15 yr old out to help me lol.
  8. Speed nuts there. Just need the screw. I can pick that up at hardware store. That’s why I’ll use the bracket-simple.
  9. The correct mounting hole is just left of where it’s at now. I wanted to place it there so I wouldn’t have to recut the hoses when I got a bolt at hardware store to mount the bracket. I figure if I have all the right parts why half arse it. The half arsing it is just temporary. brilliant idea on the spoke though. Was afraid the ties would be permanent lol.
  10. Replaced the fuel filter and (high pressure) fuel line, brake vacuum line and check valve. Also bled brakes again, and clutch-better pedal but still not great. will probably try it again tomorrow. Not getting a lot of air coming out at this point. Did an extended test drive too! Gas pedal sticks a bit 😳. old: new: I have the bracket for it, but not the screw lol.
  11. Thanks but I have a purpose built bottle for bleeding brakes. Has magnet too so I can attach to the car. I was actually looking for more specific tips related to bleeding a system that had gone empty and if there were any specific considerations.
  12. Clutch. I didn’t do anything with the clutch. What should be done there? I didn’t come across anything related to clutch as part of brake bleeding, but was wondering about that since it’s the same reservoir.
  13. That’s not what the Brake Bleeding Article here in the FAQ says. Although we both got it wrong. It says upper, inner, outer. p-
  14. I have one but in searching I came across info that suggested pumping manually would be better. I’ll try the power bleeder at 15psi and see what happens.
  15. Recently went through majority of my brake system: -new calipers/pads/rotors -new drums/shoes/wheel cylinders -new stainless steel lines -new reservoir and lines to master cylinder Prior to this had sufficient brake pedal but leaking components (WC mostly) and knew refresh would help. System completely drained when I removed the rubber lines. Reservoir I replaced after all the components had been replaced. Original Master Cylinder and slave remain. I bled the brakes (my son helping with pedal pumping) and got a lot of air out. I think I need to do it again as way more came out the fronts than I got at the back, and I still have a pedal that goes nearly to the floor before any braking happens. Tomorrow will redo. Made me think though…am I doing it right? I’m doing the typical RR first, then LR, then RF and finishing with LF. Fronts I did top bleeder first, then outer, then inner. That’s it though. Am I doing it right? Am I missing any steps? advice welcome! pablo
  16. What? I’m using the green ones already and installed them in the existing rubber receivers. Couple were missing so I wanted to complete them. You’re telling me the green clips don’t even need them?! Good to know. Thanks.
  17. 1972 2002tii First, the door panel clips-what is the part number of the hat shaped bit that is in the door, that accepts the clip? In the below poor diagram item #3 is the typical green clip that attaches to the door panel. #2 is the receiver, but there's no part number for that and I need a few. Second, early 4 speed shifter. Shifting into next county is what it feels like. Now, cars been neglected a bit so the bushings and such are f'd up. In fact the bushings at the bottom of the shift lever are completely missing. What I want, in a perfect world, is a nice crisp short shift. Ive done some racing and have always had sports cars, so that's kinda my benchmark. What are my best options? I've researched here and the IE late shifter upgrade seems to have some issues, and I've been told by friends its not a huge improvement 'upgrading' to the later shifter. I've also read here that just rebuilding the stock shifter is a good improvement. A 5-speed is not in the cards anytime soon. What do you all think?
  18. Car is finally back on the ground. Will probably need to bleed the brakes again based on the pedal. System was dry so took some work (started with gravity). wanted to test drive but battery went dead after a few weak cranks. Has been sitting for 4 weeks. will charge the battery and try again tomorrow night. Also replaced the broken rubber bumperettes on back with some good spares that came with the car. Of course couldn’t find one of them so desperate measures were taken in the interim.
  19. That looks amazing. Is it compatible with a Momo adapter or did it come with its own?
  20. I’ve heard good things about Intercity. I shipped my 02 from TN to CA a few months back when I bought it using Montway. Good price for open trailer. I was happy with them. Was quick too!
  21. Ireland Engineering Stage 1 front and rear springs. these are effectively brand new. I installed them, parked the car, then got a screaming deal on different suspension setup so pulled the springs. They have about 1-2 miles on them from moving the car around. from IE: ”lower car approx 1.25”; ideal for street driven 02’s. Firm and sporting, but not harsh, ride. paid $225 new. will accept $180 plus shipping. Local pick up ok too. Selling these locally as well.
  22. willing to ship to 90403, Santa Monica (Los Angeles area)?
  23. That’s some good company. I’d imagine a good paint job came of that.
  24. The whole internal assembly disintegrated as I was taking it out. Might explain the Brake Failure light on dash being on lol.
