  1. I would prefer to see it left as is Mike
  2. Steve, the site looks great, thanks for all the hard work....and saving me from an extended withdrawl Mike
  3. Here is a link that will help better to understand the assembly http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=2552-USA-12-1968-114-BMW-2002&diagId=54_0219 hah....MIke
  4. This cost me about 65.00 measures 48 x 62 with 8" wheels, also used two 4x4's to gain the extra height
  5. I am afraid you are going to lower it, all you really need is about 10-14" in height, If you need it higher you can use 4x4's to block it. I am unclear what you used to build your dolley but I used 2x6's, double coursed with lapped corners. 6" carriage bolts thru the corners to bolt on the 8" casters. (All four corners were braced with 3/4 plywood as well). It was long enough to pick up the front rails and just in front of the rear mounts. I used 5' 4x4's to sit on the dolley to pick up those jacking points. It gave me a working height of about 14". It remained on the car throughout all the metal work until it need to be painted. So that said I am not sure the purpose intended but if it is simply to make the car mobile then the height is not really that important, IMO Have a pic?
  6. That does not sound good at all, sounds like more bottom end issues than valve train. What was the extent of the rebuild?
  7. Location: : PNW Part 54121837946 in good condition, includes shipping.
  8. You have joined the club of a growing list who dealt with this seller, be prepared to wait. It took me quite awhile to hear from this guy but I bombarded him with messages AND a negative review. My parts were finally shipped but it took some effort on my part to get him to do it. Be diligent
  9. for that kind of money ...I wonder if he will throw in a car wash too,
  10. How much.... well that depends on the physical condition. If they are straight and rust free as mentioned earlier around 300.00 for the pair would seem reasonable, but they are missing the hardware. If there is rust present in the seams or bracing then you will have to dermine if it can be media blasted to rid the problem. If the exterior metal is in good condition without the need for too much filler or meal work then you should be OK, otherwise start around 100.00 and set a limit with the work that will have to follow in mind. Good luck BTW if you do have to media blast them take them to some who is experienced with what ever media they use. You can distort the metal if you do not know what you are doing, causing you further headaches and $$$ to correct it.
  11. Ya they will fit but they're missing the hinge brackets and the rear tension spring....looks like they may need a fair amount of work too ! How much????
  12. 16. Wait an wait an wait for a "thank you"
  13. Gee, I am so sorry that I did not get it right the first time but I have been busy doing other stuff today and I just have not been able to get my steering column in to take that measurement. It is still sitting on the floor of my car. I think you can see it in the pic I sent you. If you can give me some more time I will try to get it done for you. Sounds like it's pretty important......EH
  14. At the risk of starting a pissing contest my "rant" was and still surrounds the lack of communication which includes a delivery date. Yes I have considered all the possibilities as to the why. However as stated, he read my messages and chose not to respond. So any excuse not to offer a quick update does not fly in my book. Oh BTW......the seller just contacted me, that is all I wanted out of the exercise. With that, as the one starting this debate I consider this issue over. I trust others will as well. Thanks +1 Toby
  15. I would like to thank all who have weighed in on this topic. I agree with most of the comments shared here although how I paid for this parts has little to do with the topic in my opinion. I take full responsibility for that and have learned a very valuable lesson as a result of this transaction. The important take away for me is the communication required to make both the buyer and seller whole. The more information that can be shared or exchanged, the better for all parties concerned. Moreover it takes no effort, when it breaks down someone is going to be affected. In my case this buyer has made a conscious decision to duck this responsibility. As a result he no longer gets a mulligan. He has had ample opportunity to make this go away with a few simple key strokes, If he can take time to check his messages and NOT respond to any of mine r that appear on his screen, then he has crossed that line of "life issues" vs. fraud, in my view. It is now over a week since a meaningful exchange with the seller, longer for at least two other members who are experiencing much of the same treatment form the same seller. Is this a trend...I hope not. Since starting this thread I continued to make attempts for information. That will stop today since he has once again taken some time from what I sumise is a"very busy" schedule to check his PM's without responding. I guess one could liken his actions much like a fisherman checking his lines to see what he has on the line....but I digress. So, the seller, his handle is "Ohtwotii" Mr. Naif Alymani claims to live in Washington State, he has active posts....if you care to make a donation to his pension fund you can do so at naif.m.y@gmail.com. Thanks again for you input. Mike
  16. His name is mentioned by another forum member( see above) who has been waiting longer than I with at least two others in the same boat as I . If there is a perception of impatience, so be it but I have come to learn it is far better to wait to gain all the facts before you pull the trigger than to learn them after the bullet has left the breach. When appropriate I will be happy to share that information, both good and bad.
  17. on a positive note, we have dodged a bullet. Mine was the windshield moulding.
