  1. I have a couple of BMW 02s, but recently picked up a 1969 Volvo 142s. A new pair of rear mud flaps cost $28. Just saying.
  2. My original California '74 2002 is MEG. I had a '76 Plymouth with P as the first letter. Smaller rural DMV offices, issued earlier letters on later cars. Less plates were issued, so earlier plates sat around waiting to be assigned to new cars. I owned a '73 sport bug that had ZDF plate. I figured that the car came from another state, or the earlier plates were damaged or stolen, in 1979.
  3. I want one of your five speed brackets. Greg, text me @ 510-323-5876
  4. pm sent for spare tire tub, and rear floor pans.
  5. Get clean cotton clothes line rope shove it down a spark plug hole on the compression stroke. It will stop the crank from turning, then give your breaker bar a good pull. Back the crank up and pull the rope out. I've also used a plug wire at a wrecking yard when rope wasn't available.
  6. Thanks for the info so far, I tried to do a search and only came up with the 5 speed and brakes. I wondered if someone had a complete list that could be pulled up with ease, unlike using the search which was a hit or miss proposition for me.
  7. I have this car that was owned by an older German man that sold Mercedes Benz cars for a living, he died in 2000. It has 157k miles and sitting for 17 years. I don't think it would be worth fixing it up as a driver as the interior is in bad shape from a leaking sunroof. i'm saving the 5 speed, drive shaft, rear end, and turbine wheels for my '74 2002. Can any BMW experts tell what other parts I should save to swap onto a 2002, before parting out the rest of the car? TIA
  8. I would like to come and see the cars that you have to sell. I'm will be coming from west coco county.
  9. For a title contact the DMV gal in Grass Valley ca. she will get you a title for $150. Don't part out a Tii, use a base 2002 for parts.

  10. Sold by a flipper to another flipper. When will this car find an enthusiast?
  11. Here's my '73... The BMW 2002 tii US VIN 2762681 was manufactured on October 10th, 1972 and delivered on October 13th, 1972 to the BMW importer Hoffman Motors Corp. in New York City. The original colour was Verona, paint code 024.
  12. Don't let the DMV steal money from you guys here in California. Look up "the DMV gal" in Grass Valley, if you have a collector type car with back fees. Her business is to help car collectors deal with the thieves in this state. I had a '78 Ford 4x4 not driven since 1994 with $1710 in back fees, I paid $150 to the DMV gal, because the legislature makes the laws not the DMV. The rule states that "a collector type vehicle 25 years or older with a change of ownership, NO back fees are to be collected." It drives me nuts when a DMV clerk giggles about back fees due, when it clearly states in the code book that they can't charge these fees.
  13. I got my tires mounted, thanks Sherman.
  14. I need 3, 4 lug bottle cap wheels in the SF bay area. I will take 4 if that's what you have. East bay from Berkeley to Livermore will work best for easy pickup. I don't want wheels needing refinishing, just need something I can drop off at the tire shop. Let me know if you have what I need. Thanks.
  15. I have a new from BMW fender never been mounted. It's been in storage for many years $450.
  16. I have a '74 polaris(silver)/blue 2002 for sale. nice interior, sunroof, manual trans, rebuilt engine, service records back into the 90s. This car runs great but the paint is faded, and needs a patch under the rear seat, I will have that repaired correctly by an awesome body guy. It's a blue plate California original that doesn't get driven much after I bought a '73 Tii. $5500 Located near Berkeley Ca. I've sold cars like this to guys in the rust belt before and they can't believe how nice the bodies are from out here. You can have an impartial opinion from someone here on the bayarea02 forum come over and describe it's condition to you. I have a friend that delivers west coast cars back to your area, I can put you in touch with him. Text me for photos if you're interested. Greg 510-323-5876
  17. I have a '74 in northern Ca, polaris/blue, manual trans, sunroof, 32/36 webber carb, rebuilt engine, runs strong it has no blow by. Paint is sun faded, interior was reupholstered. The body is super straight with 2 tiny spots (the size of a pencil eraser) of outer body rust, the floor under rear seat needs a patch though. I think the sunroof drain must be channeling water under the rear seat. This car is a blue plate California original and would be a perfect driver as you do a mild restoration to the exterior paint and clean/paint the engine compartment. I can deliver it up to Oregon for the cost of fuel and expenses, as my mother lives 15 mies south of Portland. If the floor repair is a problem for you I have a friend that does awesome patch panels for $50 an hour. I have lots of service paperwork from previous owner, I've owned it for 6 years. I found a '73 Tii to drive, so this one just sits now. $5500 you can text me @ 510-323-5876
  18. Where in the SF Bay Area near Berkeley can I get bushings for my aftermarket 22mm sway bar? Both of mine are missing, and the bar is rattling in the metal brackets. Twice this year I've driven' this '73 Tii up to Oregon to visit my mother, and I'm getting really tired of this bar rattling around back there. I went to 002 salvage in Hayward but the counter guy acted like he had never seen a sway bar that large before.
  19. 1974 Tii air cleaner, bought it thinking it would be that same as my '73, it has minor differences and could be used on the earlier models, $150 or trade for body parts for my '73, need hood, passenger fender, doors, and many patch panels. Located in the SF bay area, I would be interested in local parts only.
