Model:: 2002

Price:: 8000

Location: : Portland, OR

Hi, I've been contemplating pulling the trigger on a 2002 and have decided that now is the time.  I'm looking at spending $6000-$8000 on the car.  It needs to have no rust rot.  I'm not looking for a trailer queen or restored car, but I would like it to run and drive.  Basically I'm looking for a daily driver I can spruce up as I'm driving.  Faded paint, worn interiors, and minor mechanical issues aren't a deal breaker.  Ideally the car is a 68- early 71 (not a fan of the rubber lower molding) standard sedan without a sunroof but I'm not too picky.  The only real requirement is that its a manual.  Preferably the car also be located in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, or NorCal.  So if you have a car that fits the bill or know a guy who knows a guy please let me know! Thanks!!

I have a '74 in northern Ca, polaris/blue, manual trans, sunroof, 32/36 webber carb, rebuilt engine, runs strong it has no blow by. Paint is sun faded, interior was reupholstered. The body is super straight with 2 tiny spots (the size of a pencil eraser) of outer body rust, the floor under rear seat needs a patch though. I think the sunroof drain must be channeling water under the rear seat. This car is a blue plate California original and would be a perfect driver as you do a mild restoration to the exterior paint and clean/paint the engine compartment. I can deliver it up to Oregon for the cost of fuel and expenses, as my mother lives 15 mies south of Portland. If the floor repair is a problem for you I have a friend that does awesome patch panels for $50 an hour.  I have lots of service paperwork from previous owner, I've owned it for 6 years. I found a '73 Tii to drive, so this one just sits now. $5500 you can text me @ 510-323-5876

    BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

    Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

    History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

    In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

    BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
