  1. I would like the flares if the gentleman from Florida falls through. I am in Atlanta and can pick up no problem. Not really interested in air dam, if that makes any difference. aaronmfreeman at gmail dot com
  2. I would like a pair if you still have some available. Shipping will be to Atlanta. I sent you an email through the FAQ also, my email address is karenandaaron at gmail dot com Thanks, Aaron
  3. That would have been Katherine, our little 74. I was out in the MINI, and Karen ran a few errands. Aaron

  5. Has anone tried shortening the front bumper using a 320 bumper? From the pic it looks like it might hug the shape of the car better. Just a thought. Aaron
  6. I may be interested in the Cobra seats. Could you send pics or further description and price please? Also are you willing to ship, and if so, price to Atlanta. karenandaaron at gmail dot c0m Thanks, Aaron
  7. If nothing else, I am pretty sure you can still get urethane boots from Ireland, Bavarian Auto or BMP. Probably other sources too.
  8. I already have flares with plenty of metal removed. I don't (yet) have quite that agressive wheel/tire setup, but who knows, maybe one day. Thanks for the input on the steering effort, I had not realized that or seen it yet. Thanks, Aaron
  9. A couple of follow up questions to those who have put in the E3 control arms and radius rods. I read as much as I could find with the search and archives, so if this is covered, I apologize I did not find it. I would like to do this to my track car to gain the negative camber w/o going to coilovers. Has anyone used urethane bushings for these? I can't seem to find any and no one seems to mention. The pic from bmw02rally a couple of days ago looks like rubber. Also did the install require longer steering tie rods as well, or are they long enough already. Lastly, has anyone also installed adjustable camber plates (like K-Mac, BavAuto, or BMP) along with the E3 arms? Thanks for any input/direction. Aaron
  10. Sorry about that, I guess I sort of got "grandfathered in" as I have been going to them with all three of our cars for years now. (Also have a MINI) Hopefully RWL will work out. Aaron
  11. If you don't mind driving up to Buckhead, I like Buckhead Imports at 28 Irby Ave (across from Henri's bakery) 404-816-9606. They have been doing the major mechanical work on my two for years. They also service Mercedes and Jaguar and it is not uncommon to see E-types getting service. The shop is owned by Jason now who bought it from Lloyd. Lloyd still works three or four days a week and he has been repairing BMW's since our 2002's were new. Everyone there is nice and helpful. If you don't want to go that far north, check out RWL Imports at 520 Edgewood, just east of Boulevard. 404-588-1624. Bob services Porsche, BMW, and Mercedes and there are usually older 911's and 356's floating around along with 80's BMW's. I have never had my cars there, but they have come recommended to me by several sources and seem to have a very good reputation in Atlanta for servicing older German autos. Hope this helps, Aaron
  12. I have them in my tii. They are indeed offset. Driver's is offset to the left. This was actually good in my situation of long-ish legs that previously rested against the A/C console which is wider than standard. Plus I prefer to be a bit closer to the pedals than some. They are around 1 - 1.5" off-center of steering wheel. While I can see the difference, I have never been bothered driving.
  13. Pedro at BMW1602.com has some. Dead pedal too. http://bmw1602.lostbrazilian.com/v1/store2.php Aaron
  14. What exactly do you mean about reversing the rear subframe mounts? I am just not quite picturing them reversed. Do you have a picture by chance? Thanks, Aaron
  15. Has anyone used one of these? I searched the forum first, but couldn't find anything. I am thinking it might be a little stiff for street, but might be quite nice on the track car. Any advice is appreciated. Aaron http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250038115213&fromMakeTrack=true
  16. Yes, the CF raw materials have been edging up especially over the last year. I read an article in the Bicycle Retailer and Industry News (trade magazine) a few months ago concerning supply/cost/availability/etc. If I remember correctly the two largest users of CF, and why the change in the market, was attributed to the US Dep't of Defense (building their largest newest cargo plane) and Boeing (finally building the AirBus commercial plane in numbers) And from what I can tell when US gov't and Boeing want CF, they get it. If it's any consolation, carbon fiber bicycle parts have also been moving up in price over the last year, although not quite at a doubling rate as manufacturers have been partially absorbing some of the additional cost and have also been finding more efficient ways to use the CF. Good luck with your projects, I am glad you are researching and posting your findings. Nice write-up in Part 2! Aaron
