  1. yes, why ? its the original engine that came with the car when i bought it. everything around it is custom. everything around it is custom. !!!!!!!!!!!!You mean like the air filter hold down bolts? or maybe the electric fuel pump mounted on the head, or the "custom" location of the coil. If that is how the car is engineered I hope you have quality life insurance when you go to 300 HP. what do you try to prove there ? that you don't understand or you are stupid ? OH SHIT!!! Sorry Pat, after rereading all the prior posts I see that I am the one who miss read. I thought we were talking about the engine in the picture....not the one in your car. opppppppppppps Never-mind!

  3. You put 300+ HP in your 2002 you better do more than get new engine mounts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although I am with the poster who thinks this is either a bad joke or spam. My suggestion is to start with a car designed to have more than 150 HP.
  4. Sending my car into get the rear bushings replaced with urathane and have the IE toe in and camber tabs welded in to get rid of the neg camber from the springs. Also having the brakes repaired. Yippie a fat check for my guy. This pretty much covers all the things in the suspension, steering, engine, & brakes upgraded and/or replaced.
  5. I called the place about the adjustment tabs, he said he does not recommend them for 2002's. I live in Florida so I do not think there is any economic benifit to buying a sub frame from California considering shipping. Thanks.
  6. Hagarty here, less than $200 a year, no issues, agree on value. Must meet conditions like garage, one other car PER driver in house, etc. No milage limit but you do agree not to drive for work.
  7. Hey guys, I am going to have the rear sub-frame & diff bushings replaced with urathane and was wondering if it is worth the extra $ to have the camber/toe adjustment added. The extra cost is for the adjustment tabs (2 sets) from IE at around $190, the cost to have them welded in, and then an alignment to make up the negative camber from the lowered springs. The sub frame will have to be out anyway so seems like a good time to do it but still thats around $400 to get rid of around 3 or 4 % negative camber in the rear. I think my guy is reccomending it but you know..... he is not paying for it!! TIA. He did a great job up front, same thing, dropped sub frame & replaced all bushings, steering coupler, reinforced left engine mount & painted the parts. This will compleat the suspension front to rear, all new bushings, shocks, springs, sway bars, etc. October 19.......Oh boy how the $$$$ adds up. So I had a cracked subframe mount $60 (x 2) I needed a seal/gasket kit for the diff, $90 + labor & diff oil, front brake pads & rotors $150+ labor Shit I am done for a year or two now.
  8. OH MY F"N GOD! The way that guy comes into a turn is amaizing!
  9. so... $5500 plus say $4-5000 more to get the engine, brakes, steering, tires & suspension safe to drive. Hmmmmm that had better be some good looking barn find! I paid $3500 for a near rust free fully running car.
  10. Anyone ask if the brake calipers may be sticking?
  11. +1 pdf for me to mike6912@hotmail "DOT" com
  12. [ got tired of looking for an economical Tii distributor. They are usually overpriced (for my budget) and its a crap shoot (condition wise) when you do find them used. ] IE makes new Bosch Mech distributors? No No one ever said IE makes a Bosh dizzy, what they said was they offer a mechanical advance dizzy for the 2002 at a great price that works fine. As far as wanting an economical alternative, thats one. If you just wanted to show off your skills as a machinist thats fine too, but thats not what the post implied. Quality, functional OEM or parts actually designed to go in a care are not boring to me.
  13. Same here, the urethane disk is what I have.
  14. HA I guess I would have really hated the turnout this week!!!! Maybe I should consult a calendar. Thanks! Who's Greg?
  15. The turn out has been fair this summer, it would be nice to see some new faces & cars this weekend. Last month I invited a friend with a nice 60's 911 and he came out, but there was only like 15 cars total. I think it's the fact that it is daylight and 100 degrees at 7:30 at night that is the problem. But don't forget Chik-fil-a gives ya a free sandwich and they have great real milkshakes! Hope to make it.
  16. I have General Altimax 195/60/14's and love them. Got them local and not to expensive.
  17. I guess what none of us has said, is that the bar may be right and there may be a problem with your car. Does anyone know what is the proper accurate distance say between the tops of the struts? can they be "flexed" to be an inch off?
  18. The bar should have adjustment to allow for that. Look at how the FAQ strut bar works. It allows for the length to be adjusted on both ends. Sometimes simple is better. I think the TEP brace is way to much unless you are working 180+ hp.
