  1. Do you not have a stop cable to keep the trailing arm from hanging on the shock when you have it jacked up like that?
  2. Absolutely!!!!!!!! My father was a Vet in WWII Bump (This should be the number one thread.)
  3. Hey it's cool and clear for this weekend. Is there going to be a meeting? Anyone doing the Rally on Sunday?
  4. Hey, hold on there - are you lookin' at my woman's ass? If so, we need to step outside - there's a train wreck a comin' ... :-D Wait a minute - I posted those Ash-butt pictures on a public forum ... I'm so confused ... Oh, WTF, BAN OTIS!!! Never yeild!! I wonder what she is doing these days. 2002 tattoo and no 2002 to back it up!
  5. Or if your new head does not have the holes for the mechanical pump like my NOS 1985 cast E21
  6. what is the smartest step toward a motor producing approx. 175 HP in the end? I am still wondering how all these posters get to such a high HP number? Is it me or does 175 HP seem like a race engine? I have a 100% fresh engine, 284 cam, SS valves, 1st over pistons (not high comp) Header, 002 mech dizzy, 32/36 Weber...... and I can't imagine that it produces much over 115 HP, so how would I get 60+ more HP without spending $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Just wonder'n Oh please don't ban me!!! I swear I am being as polite as I can.
  7. I used a nice can I got on E-bay for like $30. Looks good and is not as large as the Summit plastic style. I mounted mine up where the battery used to be. Good for you not wanting to dump the shit on the street. Also don't forget to plug the hole in the air filter.
  8. IE sway bars, Billy sports, 2 " lower B & G springs, IE camber/toe in adjuster tabs in rear, 14" bottle caps, 195/60/14 General Altamax tires
  9. Well after the weekend driving my car with the entire front and now rear subframe, & all suspension fully refreshed & upgraded to urathane and adjustable rear alignment to make up the camber/toe in, it is super tight now. I love this car!!!
  10. ALMOST $700 IN PARTS & 12.5 HOURs OF LABOR AT $85 AN HOUR opps sorry about the caps lock. diff gasket kit 85 bushing kit 70 toe in kit 85 camber kit 95 diff oil 30 brake rotors 60 sub frame mnts 120 wheel bearings 50
  11. Well after 3 weeks & $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ my car is home. New rotors, pads, flushed brake system, wheel bearings, rear toe in /camber adjustment tabs installed, diff refresh, new sub frame mounts, all new bushings & general clean up on the rear. As I was leaving (with a much lighter wallet) A 73 BMW Csi 3.0 coupe with right hand drive was being unloaded to have my guy work on it. Very nice looking car. Pics up soon
  12. Went to the shop where my car is getting the rear sub frame rebuilt and brake work done. The toe in, and camber adjustments are welded in and installed, now it looks SO much better. I did not think the look would be that cool. No negative camber no rub and looks like a normal 2002 but way lower. bye bye "squat". It should drive much better too! new bushings & rear end general clean up. What a deal, an upgrade that improves looks and perfomance! My guy had a silver 73 2002 Tii there with 15" wheels and stock height. It seemed so TALL! There was at least 2 inches of clearance over the tires to the fender in the rear. Mine are on the limit, about 1&1/2 inch up front, and under the fender in the back with 1/4 to 1/2 inch tire wall clearance (just enough to fit my finger in). The other guy had paint/body, interior, and trunk cosmetic work to the tune of like $4,500 just to his personal taste!! This week it should be home.
  13. Tape over the rondel and the license plate too. must be a hollywood thing. The tag actually is 1600 CAB the 1 & C are covered in blue tape along with the California up top.
  14. I know we all have heard she had a 1600 in her video, here are some promo shots from the video. How can you not love two amazin' hoties in one photo (Kati & the car) You can see the video camera rig on the first shot attached to the frame of the car.
  15. look who's being thin skin'd now...people experiencing PMS should all stay off the interweb unless they can deal with negativity...it's a brutal world up here Thin skined? I was not insulted by him I was commenting on how hostile the post was towards the OP. So no 'skin of ny nose'. And around 6 years ago I posted a response on the subject of after market winshield gaskets and how the one I got from Max was slightly off and needed some massaging to fit (by the way it still works fine)... well I seem to have got the same response about how I should deal with them, and how that hurt there bussiness to disparage the product. So I know the deal. There are lots of vendors and some are better than others, just look in the vendor reviews section. This is just a place to see how others think and react. We all get offended sometimes. I just don't see the constant need to attack the posters. But I will not refrain giving from my opinion. With regard to your memories of PMS maybe you should take your own advice. ---sorry Esty not called for
  16. Regardless of how much knowledge he knows about BMW parts, I think it would be in your best interest to keep him off the internet if he can't handle negative posts (that post wasn't even that bad). I understand passion but relax. +1, I agree, big plus for the public apology. I am with Ray on this one as well. That was a mildly negative post at worst. The response was over the top and made me feel less likely to deal with Max. My 02 cents.
  17. Well I automatically read between the lines that the OP was aware that he'd need flares. really?? I read He has no mods, I don't see much "between the lines".
  18. So you want to find out how to fit giant full race rims on your unmodified 2002? I don't think CD was joking. Not that those are not awesome rims but more suited to a wide body or flaired race prepped car.
  19. I am having the toe in and camber adjustment tabs put in my car and was wondering how to go about an alignment. Does anyone know a local guy in Orlando? My mechanic (a race prep specialist) is going to "eyeball" the rear end after he reassembles the rear sub frame. new bushings, sub frame mounts, dif repair/refresh. How critical is a thrust alignment if he is reasonably accurate with his set. He does not have a 4 wheel alignment rig.
  20. but can you do that in french and the 4 other languages that pat speaks.... and what is your point to your ad hominem argument ? Jump right in like you make a difference. Also not an ad hominem argument. I am disparaging the writer to respond to him calling me stupid, not to debate his logic or argue the point.
  21. I am glad you have a sense of humor, and I am sorry to disparage your fathers work. I take it back. Good luck.
