interesting NK

Lots of interesting things about this baby.

It's clearly a 'transition' example. It has the later firewall and horizontal taillight arrangement but the early dashboard.

Also, I believe that the tach in this is a Tisa tach, judging by the diameter. The tach on a ti is between the 2 large gauges, not located as this is.

Na, not an 1800 TiSA tach, just a Ti one put in a not normal location.

The Ti's moved the clock to the right, in the middle of the multi gauge unit so the tach could sit front and center.

The Ti/SA tachs were larger diameter and had an adjustable redline needle...

The tach in the '68 seems larger than I would expect a ti tach to be, but they are crummy pictures.

BTW, you were right, I did like the whole thing! Lotsa sweet Tisa's.

In the middle picture of Pete Stillwell's Tisa, the guy standing behind it in the blue ballcap is my very own brother, Barry! I have had the honor of driving Pete's car and it's everything I recall a tisa being.

That is a wild looking NK! The lights have the E23/E28 big/little headlight setup and an all black plastic grills.

I bet the tach may be from a later 68' up NK car with the later dash "pod" that surrounds the three guages. I say that because I have a later 69' and managed to get a tach from an earlier flat dash car and it just about falls through the middle hole where the clock is now. The later tachs may have larger bodys/bezels or something that makes them fit the later dash.

From what I recall, on the flat dash cars, that area to the left of the headlight switch was the only place that you could mount an extra gauge.

All other space underneath the flat dash was already occupied and the only place that realy had any kind of void, of any size was to the left of the headlight switch.

Also from what I remember, the space to the left of the headlight switch had solid sheet metal backing (for the veneer) and did not have any pre cut holes as an option area from the factory.

My vote is that these guys used hole saws.

What do the English call them? BOY RACERS??

Note to Luis!

Base nothing you see on this car with the one you intend on buying.
