San Diego can absorb the sailors of the Third Fleet, and visiting rowdy endocrinologists, but I'm not sure the town can survive both at the same time!

hey id like to collaborate with you on another idea i have

you might be the guy to help me pull it off...

there cant be much to these things...im a half assed electronic hobbist. im sure someone with just a lil skill and a soldering iron could build one...

does any one know the pin out lay on the pull?

it would be fun to make one using a microcontroller

how do you think mine works ? it uses a 8k processor running at 8mhz.

it shows an entry text at power up...the button on the right is used to select the desired diplay, Volt, Dwell or tach. 100% digital.

fwiw, i am getting this back on the work bench, i calculated real cost and i will most probably build 10 of theses, to get a cost of 100$ each.

I will make a stick-on faceplate to make it look nicer.

It will include:

-the box with a ign and start switch, and one led to show the ignition status

-4 digit LED display

-will show tach, voltage and dweel

-with 4' of wiring harness and the correct plug that goes on the 02 diagnostic socket.

note that the one pictured above has 3 panel indicator, onely one is used the 2 others are uselss.

The processor will be mounted on a socket so if there is eventual software upgrades, i will be able to upgrade with processor exchange by mail for modest fees.

Here is a Mini 2002ner I borrowed from John McWilliams a while back. Great for adjusting the valves and other basic diagnostic checking.

I didnt gave much details, but there is also one ignition switch (the chrome togle switch) and a start button (the red one) so you can start the car remotely, or just tickle the starter, like when you adjust the valves.

Final design will differ a bit from the one pictured, the box size and the LED display will remain the same. Switch arangement/position and LED will differ a litle bit.

i ordered 16 pcs to lower cost, they cost me 18$ each then at this quantity.
