my fantasy, as of last night discussing with some friends after supper, was as follows.

find a great california 02 ready to drive for a fair price, drive to my old stomping grounds in corona del mar, reminisce, drive it to yosemite with wife, reminisce, spend about 2 weeks in yosemite bouldering, backpacking, be lazy, make memories, drive back home to denver, reminisce. begin upgrades on 02.

sigh...

Just a plain, clean, classy car, with a lot of engine, and precise handling not to mention street legal in California.

All of this cruising down the freeway with two of my best buds, on a road trip down southern California jamming to classic green day tunes. How great would that be? =]

That is actually a very good question. I have owned newer, faster and better cars than my 02, and it is an 02 that I choose to drive everyday, I even come up with excuses (because of the short commute) to make deliveries, or pick up parts so I can drive it more. I guess I don't fantasy anymore. Wait! I remember now, my fantasy: a nice Unimog! and a 4 car garage with a lift. That's all!

I must, somewhat sheepishly, say that I actually HAVE a four-car garage with a lift. Unfortunately I own eight cars, so I STILL need more space.

(Actually the garage is a 17' x 31' shoebox with a single-width rollup door, so the cars are a stovepipe fit inside, and the lift isn't a post lift but a midrise scissors lift, but I still feel like I've died and gone to heaven whenever I walk inside. Did I mention that I am thankful? Oh, that's a different thread... :^)
