Yesterday I went by the shop and took pictures of the car. The final buffing on the top portions of the car were finished and looked good to me. Yesterday, the sides had not been buffed at all, but today I got the call that the car was finished and went by to see the results. The side panels were also buffed out and they were good and smooth. I'm happy with the paint job. I was surprised they put 34 hours on the buffing process, but the clear coat had cured for eight months and took quite a bit of work to smooth out.

Next week the trim and interior panels are scheduled to be put on the car and I think we'll be close to the first extended drive.

Photos were taken with my cell phone. I'm looking forward to finishing and taking some pics with a real camera.

All I need to complete is a couple of interior window strips, a re-worked Tii logo for the rear, and trunk panels (on order)...I need to find a driver side grill to match the passenger side.

Going to The Vintage in May.

That's the way I thought it should go...easy fix.

I would like to caravan with you so we'll make some plans before the event. I was thinking of leaving sometime after lunch on Thursday. Hope that fits your plans.

Your car looks great, Jim! Looking forward to checking it out in May.

I might be able to join y'all if you're driving up to the Vintage on Thursday. I plan to drive from Deltona, FL to Atlanta on Wednesday, go pay a visit to my daughter and to my touring, and leave Atlanta sometime on Thursday.

Wonderful Inka tii Jim. Amazing that this was the same car that Jonathan owned before you.

You may have told us earlier - but where did you get your seats re-done? The place did a nice job. Can't wait to see your car in person at the Vintage.

Kevin Chinn near Atlanta recovered the Recaros and the headrests.

Ok cool.. I'll plan the 02 atl club caravan for Thursday then. Hopefully the Tii will be all dent free and running well by then!

great looking 02. I can see you have spent lots of time and $!

If you guys are coming through Columbia, SC I-20/26 on your way and don't mind an extra, let me know. I would love to join the caravan to The Vintage. My car will make yours look even better.

Thanks, John

I don't know the route or who will be involved in the caravan. Zac Cardinal is the leader on this thing and we'll check with him. We'll get back with you prior to the event.

Hi,

Do you own the shop or is this place that you choose to do your restoration. What was total cost of the restoration.

I have a few things on the injection system to sort out...and I need a deep passenger side front grill, but I'm driving the car quite a bit now and she's running pretty well. I don't think I'll be able to go to The Vintage, but I'm still working on my schedule.

Below are some pics of where I am now. Not sure if I should keep the German plate on the front.
