On a '72tii, what goes left of the steering wheel where the

choke is on a carb car? My tii has a hole, but I can't remember what goes there since I took it apart for the restoration. I thought there wasn't supposed to be a hole at all.

Auto choked carbed cars had a plug, at least in 1972.

Wonder if it was original?

If plastic, nothing went there--it was blank. I think they switched to a plastic piece when the factory switched from the 1 bbl manual choke carb to the 2 bbl auto choke carb. They proabaly switched the tii's over at the same time.

If metal, probably some sort of plug. Check RealOEM for the exploded diagram.

On my plastic '74 I don't have a hole. The cover on the '72 is metal. RealOEM doesn't have the correct view to see if there's a hole or not.

Mine had a switch for the alarm, thinking about putting another power outlet for the tom-tom

nothing normally goes there but I have seen a couple tii's that had switch there that sends a signal to the cold start valve.
