The first pix is of two e-21 transmissions, the one on top is a CR 5 speed dogleg transmission that DID come out of a 2002. The one on the bottom is 5 speed from an e-21

looks like a 2002 tranny--note the position of the clutch slave cylinder down low on the side--the E21 five speeds all have 'em on the top (where they're a real pain to change out when installed). It's got the 80mm plug between the main case and the end plate--a dead giveaway for a five speed.

And the shortening job on the shift platform is just what the factory did--cut and weld a four speed platform. So...it may be a CR 2002 5 speed... keep your fingers crossed.
