Any pointers on how to drill the holes for the mirror bracket? The left door has the holes stamped at the factory. How do you get the right door holes to look like this? Drill bit? Dremel?

Paging Mike Self: Seriously he can tell you just how to go about this. Something to do with making a template that is a mirror image of the driver's side mirror arrangement. You two need to talk! Good luck.

Take your left side mirror off, and make a template--take a piece of stiff paper, mark the hole locations, then align the template with the edge of the window opening trim and the leading edge of the door.

Then turn the paper over and place it on the right door. Presto, a mirror (so to speak) image and proper location for your holes.

Before drilling the holes, lightly center punch the spots, then place masking tape over the two spots. That way your drill won't skitter and mess up your paint. After you drill the holes and file out the slots, be sure and touch up the edges with paint so rust won't start under there.

cheers

Thanks guys!

I will tackle this tomorrow - I have the great benefit of not actually having any paint on my doors as yet, so I will get a ruler and really make some good measurements to get it right.

I have a mirror in a box, do they normally come with the bracket and the screws?
