I watch F1 for the drama. The personalities. I like Hamilton so I watch it for that. For my racing fix, I prefer LeMans and before the grand am buyout American LeMans was my series of choice. Great variety of cars and classes and technology. Seeing the Audi R8 dominate was breathtaking. Seeing the French diesels angrily run down the Audis at Sebring was awesome. I visited Long Beach, Laguna Seca, Infineon and made a pilgrimage to Sebring. I plan on going to LeMans one year.  I will flip on German Touring Car as well.

I'd almost rather watch cup racing at this point. And I only watched some of the road course racing in years past. F1 is pretty boring. Watch the Rossi Lorenzo 2009 GP in Spain videos if you want the real deal. OK the pit strategies in Weathertech can be interesting too but I'm old enough to remember true innovation in F1 ( 6 wheel race cars ??) and the innovation among teams today is arguably relevant but kind of subtle and restricted. I like soccer too but I'm probably not watching a game getting excited about nuances. I'm all for one design racing and let the best driver or skipper win but this flag to flag victory parade is hard to watch. At 1:00 AM anyway . I admit I'm no expert. Just my .02

What I do is roller some paint on the wall beside the tv when F1 is on, that way I can switch back and forth between the drying paint and the race, which ever is more exciting at the time...paint is ahead about 70/30 right now;)

I used to work on Black Swan and Green Hornet Racing team - 2010, 2011 and 2012 in GTC and 2013 with the SLS AMG GT3 in World Challenge.... They really ruined ALMS when it combined with Grand Am to create United Sportscar racing...  I miss those days.

I completely agree!  Why create a series when none of the cars there can compete in the highest levels of LeMans?  I get that the cost was out of this world, but LMP2 (or LMP675) was fun to watch.  I still remember the debut of the Porsche LMP2 Spyder.  I watched it power down the straight at Laguna Seca and pass teh bigger and more powerful LMP1 cars into turn 1...WOW.  That car was a true giant killer and was even fast until the rules forced its obsolescence.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
