I am still counting my lucky stars.  Just came across a set:  56mm, brass alloy, raised letterings, enamel/paint, Campagnolo blue, italian flag stripes.

I’m back again, marveling at these beauties, Trieu! Did you find these in Italy? I’ve never seen anything like them, and they’re quite amazing: the Italian flag banner sealed the deal for me! ?

They are so different from the everyday center caps, even my elegantly-incised set, with the inset letters picked out in Campagnolo blue. I wonder if they were produced to celebrate a special anniversary or event, e.g., Campagnolo’s 50th year (1983), Italy’s 2,000th year (?), etc.

I must add that I’ve seen Campy’s with factory gold finishes, and the brass tones of these make me wonder if they were originally paired with a set of these gold rims...?

The photo below, of a 9 x 13 four-spoke Campy, is courtesy of Flunder, and appears in an earlier post within this thread.

Thanks for sharing: they’re just great!

Best regards,

Steve

Datsun S30Z.

Had to Google S30Z, Trieu!

It’s what I knew as a 240Z. The 1979 Campagnolo brochure shows two models intended for the 240Z, both in a 6 x 14 size. One is the Bertone (a.k.a., Ragno), the other is the...uh...last one pictured at the right! ?

Someone is going to come along, five years from now, read this thread, see these center caps, and say “Wow: you found a set of the ______ Anniversary center caps!” ?

Thanks and best regards,

Steve

P.S. If you come across a second set, and they need a home, PM me! ?

I've already emailed seller if he can help find another set.  If he does, it has your name on it.

Thank you, Trieu!

Ryan,

My 5 1/2” x 13” Campy’s (a.k.a., Ragno’s) take a center cap 56 mm. in diameter. Not every Campy, however, takes a 56 mm. center cap. I’m not even certain if all Ragno’s take 56 mm. center caps.

Center caps and circlips are being repro’d, but not in the stunning 240Z (a.k.a., S30Z) style shown in the Japanese listing. I believe Trieu has a matching set; perhaps he can confirm the diameter.

As to circlips, I’ve previously found them by Googling.

Best regards,

Steve

Thank you, Lorin,

My concern, however, was with larger, say 14” or 15” rims, or with rims having dramatically different lug patterns, e.g., 4 x 114, 5 x 120, etc. And I know absolutely nothing about Campy’s for 1970’s Datsuns (or were they Nissans in 1970’s Japan?).

Best regards,

Steve
