Exh manifold heatshield

wegweiser

Recommended Posts

Unknown origin but should be a 2002 part. Cast aluminum, freshly media blasted.

Doesn't fit my 72 tii manifold without use of tall stud/spacers for top two holes), but might fit others. (75-76 cars maybe? I have no idea!)

Asking $35 shipped.

Numbers cast in to underside are: "225" followed by "121 144 52 85 9" which doesn't correspond to any BMW part number as far as I know. Note "tube" shaped portion for intake pre-heat hose.

Very interesting!

The only one I see looking like that is part # 11 62 0 743 128.

According to my "Blue" parts book it is for only RHD '02s, however, it appears to be for all Euro '02s.

the early cars--121 head I think. Later cars use a sheet steel one, and I don't think they interchange between manifolds.

i fitted one of these early style heat shields to a later exhaust manifold with a creative use of threaded studs and spacers. it is possible and not too difficult. i preferred its more robust appearance, at the time.

I will vouch for Jerry on this one. I have his old car. :)
