Rear Swaybar

Hi guys, i have bought a new car, and when i was changing the tire i have found out that the car have rear swaybar, i just wanna know that every 2002(s) has it or it is a optional thing?

Rear swaybar was stock on 73 2002. You might want to measure the diameter to determine whether you have the stock bar or an after market version.

What is tha diameter of the stock one?

and if i remove it, the car would have problem or not?

Stock rear is 16 mm. I would suggest you leave it in place. It helps reduce body roll when you turn the car. Without it, your car will tend to be sloppy in the rear. Sloppy rear doesn't sound good in any context.

You can remove it and drive safely but I don't see why do so. All -02's didn't have the sway bars, 1502 for example.

I removed my rear sway bar long ago, just to reduce wheelspin in corners at autocross (combined with E21LSD/Bilstein Sports/H&Rs/Polys/big front sway, etc.). Probably not an ideal setup for some, but it works for me. I don't seem to notice any penalties on the street.

I jus wanna remove it to install it on my other 02!

i have asked that question to get sure that if i remove it my car ca run again or not!

Nothing worse than understeer will happen-

when you reduce the rear roll stiffness,

you reduce the total amount of front grip relative to the rear.

Not a big deal. And semi- standard testing procedure...
