  1. Hi Sam, Where in Melbourne are you located? Tom (also in Melbourne)
  2. Good to see another aussie on the board!. Good luck with the project! If you make it accoss to Vic, let us know and we'll get some 02's together and go for a spin.
  3. Considering your low mounting the turbo, I don't think many people will be able to help you. Im going to take an educated guess and say, yes, you will need to modify the subframe. Do up some basic measurements and see where you get to. I personally think you should reconsider the low mount idea, but if thats what your hearts set on then go for it - there just isnt much info out there to help you, and even less (probably none) for a RHD. You might have to be one of the first. One of the real 2002 Turbos going around is a RHD - owner claims factory but I'd be more inclined to believe the factory figures. A GT25 will be fine if you aren't chasing big hp.
  4. I assume your issue is you don't want the dump pipe hitting the steering arm / donut? Are you going top mount or low mount turbo like on the original turbo? For a custom manifold, a fabricator will charge about 1k judging by what i've seen doing the rounds for an M10 turbo mani. Have you decided on your turbo?
  5. I have them un-installed at the moment. Paid about $160AU shipped or there abouts through an English supplier as part of a group buy. I don't open the costs spreadsheet much anymore. Far too depressing. Im sure the OEM rubber would stand up fine but if you want silicone then go for it.
  6. That'd be a fairly hefty dent mate. Well done on the 40 buck manifold btw. He didnt get what he paid for - bring it up with the supplier. They are most likely totally aware of the products quality... or lack there of. The design has been shown to handle 400hp.
  7. +1, these things are made in China arent they... Quality issues?
  8. Just because you put an Alpina part on a regular 02... it doesnt make it an Alpina. Just my opinion of course. The real Alpina looks a bit far gone but good luck none the less - would be fantastic to see it revived if you can get it away from the fella.
  9. I had the wrong ones for my MBK conversion - bit of an "oh crap now i have to go parts hunting again" moment
  10. Pretty amazing stuff - thanks for posting.
  11. Yep, just masked up the reverse light. No clear coat but it may be a good idea to clear it. I havent had any issues with it standing up to the elements and cleaning.
  12. I used the stained glass paint on mine - like 13 bucks a can.
  13. WTB: Weber DCOE 13 matched pair Not just after any set of twin carbs - looking specifically for the 13's Anyone have a pair laying around? contact: cmorriso@bigpond.net.au

  15. My dad has a 1972 tii but currently running recoed twin weber 45 dcoe 152s on the M10 2.2 motor with headers, electronic ignition and exhaust. A 300 deg cam will come soon. I have seen Weber 45-9s sold between folks on this site but want advice on the 13s as compared to the 9s or other Weber combos. Which is better, why and does anyone have any leads on a set of 13's or 19's? Many thanks Tom
  16. Just chiming in to say hi. The Vic 02 Register is Victoria based but people from all around are on the list. You don't need to be a BMWCC member to join, its just about fun, friendship and 02's.
  17. Harry, firstly well done on undertaking such a project! Is it the steering rod thats the issue or the donut? If its the donut, 2 Toyota Tarago steering rods put together are the perfect fit and free up a lot of space. Andrew (Skippy the bush kangaroo) did this as well as another fellow in Queensland (Alan M) to get enough space for headers. See project thread "Chamonix Trix"
  18. Ashoooo Maybe hit up this guy. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/bmw-1602-2002-parts_W0QQitemZ120433780066QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Car_Parts_Accessories?hash=item1c0a69a562&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50
  19. Soon I hope! Will let you know as soon as possible. Hit up Cj if you're interested in the GC's. He's the man and can spec it however you want!
  20. Thats what the E21 hubs used, and you need late E21 hubs for the MBK on regular 02 struts. I havnet had any issues using them, cant comment on strength... its an OEM part, im sure it will be fine... Stock MC is still in there. Not planning on using this at all though.
  21. They are off a Ford Laser if i recall correctly. Dave is a nice guy and has done fantastically with the car.
