  1. Have you checked to see if the pump belt is intact?
  2. Thats a nice bit of work there Rob, but it can't fit a 2002 as you can get a wrench stright onto the drive shaft bolts, whats up with that? Just kidding if priced kindly you'll sell a butt load of em.
  3. It really comes down to the condition of the car in question and if it has a sunroof, (2002s with out sunroofs are really just parts cars anyway) rather than the year, they all can be desmoged easily enough. 72's and on all come with 2bbl carbs and that manifold can get you up to a weber 40/40 carb with a bit of mods.
  4. I would reassemble it and see if your fuel presure has changed it would only take a small piece of crap in the return valve to keep it from seating. If nothing has changed I would disconect the fuel return hose and put a short bit of hose on the return valve and plug the end with a bolt and hose clamp, run the fuel pump and check the presure you should have 80 to 100 psi, if you meet these numbers then the pump is not the problem and you'll need to find a new return valve.
  5. If you go with out the trim here is a neat trick I learned from a old hotrodder, to fill the holes get a handfull of plain not galvinized 16 penny nails and stick one though the hole from the backside (with the point facing out) grab the point and pull the nail head against the body and tackweld it in two places then cut the shaft off the nail with a cutoff wheel or set of nippers and finish the weld and grind it flat with your flap wheel, on the trunk or hood where you can see the backside you'll need to grind off the nail head, but this is still WAY faster than tring to plug weld with a piece of copper bar for a backing.
  6. It looks like one of them has the bearing installed IN THE WRONG DIRECTION thus giving the wrong offset, but I'm dislexic (sp) too but it's OK as long as I remember to dial 119 if I hurt myself out in the shop
  7. The noise changing between on throttle and off throttle is offen times traced to the differental, you might want to drain it and check for metal shavings, diff oil is cheap and if your like me you're overdue anyway.
  8. The a/c fan alone is marginal here in the Seattle area, I don't think it would do it in the Florida heat when stuck in traffic. to be safe I would get a aftermarket fan. YMMV
  9. The E28 M5 used the gretag 280 for its transmission, the 85 535i and some early etas used the 265, looking at real oem the trans mount for the 265 is 23711175731 and it looks like the one in first picture it may be a different part but it still has the offset mounting
  10. Sears has a good book on multimeters about 60 pages and it does a good job of covering things from the very basic to the more complex muti step trouble shooting for around 10 bucks.
  11. You can also remove the pedal box and carefuly grind the welds holding the petal face to the stalk and then offset the petal face, if you were to do this you have to do both the brake and clutch petals or you'll just move the problem over to the otherside.
  12. The thing that stands out to me is the notch cut in the heater cowl for the timing light their is no way a 72 would have this cutout as it was not fitted of needed on plastic runner cars, unless it was added later and this one seems way to smooth to be cut by hand, you would have to see the car in person and check the vin but I would bet it's a latter 73
  13. I think it goes before the pump, I just feel better about putting a cheap plasitc part on the suction side rather than on the presure side of the systemif thers a small leak better a drip then a stream of fuel.
  14. be sure to pull the plug out of the waterjacket on the lower left side of the engine or you'll fill the bores with water and you'll have to mop it out.
  15. If the wiring is all in order look back a week or so and there was a thread on the 74's seat belt interlock system it may well be that the interlock relay has gone T.U.
  16. Toyota's engine management system will not shift into or out of gear above 2k RPM, this is to prevent engine damage before your run away car hits a wall at 110 MPH. Also notice that the Preis (SP) is not on the list even though acount for almost half of the runaway Toyotas
  17. all 2002 are controlled by the stone cutters society. P.S All 2002 are belong to us!!!!!
  18. I would think that the 02 exhaust system would load that joint in shear as the only hangers are all the way behind the rear axle and there is really nothing holding up the front other than the 3 bolt flange that would be replaced or have the flex joint installed behind it. The joint that Allbim posted would not have this problem.
  19. The ball on your linkage bridge (the piece that goes between the carbs and the linkage rod hooks to) has been raised by welding about a 1/2" spacer just under the ball, this will allow you to run your chokes as they are with out any interference, although you won't need them in at all in Texas. I would definitely keep the linkage you have and fab up the firewall bracket like Mojojoy has done using the stock firewall end. Your manifolds look like they are a copy of the old CT of London Mani's, I say copy's because I have never seen a set of CT's that weren't marked, they are a quality piece and worth keeping, check the head side of the manifold to make sure they have been tapered to to match the intake port CT never were and were left with a sharp edge it was left to the engine builder to match them up to the ports.
  20. Turn the wheels all the way left or right and the tie rod will drop down a little that should give you the clearance you need, I would also remove the distributor cap and rotor so they don't get damaged against the firewall.
  21. I've used 3M 5200 marine sealer on the plugs with great success, this stuff is a adhesive and sealer in one it's very strong on the adhesive part and lasts forever, get it at any marine store like West Marine for about 12 a tube which is enough to do 4 or 5 cars, apply to a clean primed surface and smooth it top and bottom with your finger and it will seal forever. Be sure to use gloves when you use it as it will stick to your skin through many scrubbing also put some newspaper under the car if your working on pavement.
  22. Both the Ti and the Tii have the same cut out on the bottom after all they have to clear the same booster, it's the new klass ti air cleaner that doesn't have the cut out, I think the easiest way to make one would be to cut the bulge out of a Tii one and graft it on to the NK one.
  23. A real reporter, He flew over schwinfort ( a report that was censored) Berlin and was on the beaches of Sicily and Normandy on D day, the Korean war, Vietnam, the Kennedy assassination, and all of the race to the moon he reported it mostly in a calm and measured voice all thou sometimes with a tear in his eye ( the Kennedy assassination and the moon landing) the events of our lives as they happened. None of the reporters from what passes for the news today should be allowed to pick the dingleberrys from his ass.
