  1. Well, it seems it is Stephers for the win. See pics. I still need to nmeasure flywheel thickness, but I’m pretty sure Aardvarc supplied me the correct disc.
  2. Didn’t get a chance to get out and work on it yesterday. Will keep everyone posted. Thanks again for all the ideas! John
  3. I think what you are seeing as chewed up is a bit of grease on the hub that transferred from the input splines, and some on the collar which also had a thin coat on it. I will be back to it today and take another look though. As far as pushrod length, I don’t know what proper length should be so it’s hard to tell if it’s the right one. Thank you you again for all the input!

  5. Hello again! Thanks for all the replies! The noise does seem to be coming from the clutch area. New pivot, clip in place. I have not pulled the pressure plate to see if there was interference between the disc and the flywheel bolts. Clutch pedal feels a little soft, but I didn’t think too much of it as the noise wasn’t what you’d expect to hear with that. I will bleed the slave again however. I will pull it a little further apart and report back. Here are a couple pics to see if anyone spots anything.
  6. Hello all! Well, I've run out of ideas here. Just did a 245 swap with an Aardvarc kit. All went together well, but I'm having issues. Can't get the car in gear with engine running, and it makes a loud noise when the clutch is pushed in. Noise is with engine speed and sounds like what you'd expect to hear if the fork was hitting the pressure plate, or at least something spinning hitting something stationary. Clutch pedal out, no noise. Shut car off, can put in gear and with car in air, fire it up, wheels turn, no noises. Dave at Aardvarc thought clutch disc may be in backwards. Pulled it apart, clutch disc in correctly. Checked parts, correct clutch, correct TO bearing, no witness marks on anything that would indicate anything hitting anything. In short, it all looks fine and I'm out of ideas. Thoughts? Thank you in advance, John
  7. This one too. http://nwclassicmotorcarrally.org Have done it the past few years in one of our 02's usually a couple others there too. More would be better!
  8. It sounds like I need to ask another question. Are flared fenders necessary?
  9. Thanks for all the great info and suggestions! I will read the article tonight. The "want/need" is a great question. I guess what I'm trying to do is lessen the understeer when I push hard. In Auto-x I rear lose the rear, but often push the front. I've tried tightening up the rear bar with little effect. Staggering air pressure front to rear helps. I know these cars lack proper camber, especially when lowered a little. My thought is if I can keep more rubber on the ground during cornering it would help.
  10. Unsure of toe at this time. It doesn’t follow grooves now, I just worry about dialing in too much camber and having to fight the pavement. Fixed IE plates are adding 5/8 degree i think the Bavaria arms give you 2 degrees Currently running the IE fixed plates, BavAuto springs, Billy sports, IE bars, 13x6’s with Federal 205/60’s. Hoping to get a second set of 13x6’s for a set of Toyo RA-1’s
  11. Gotcha. I guess my question was more along the lines of how much the increased camber affects the tramlining? i.e. how much camber makes the car dart-y?
  12. Hello all, I looking to improve cornering at autocross and I want to add camber to my car and am thinking of the Bavaria arm swap. I am thinking going this way instead of adjustable camber plates because I like my ride height and spring firmness, and it is my understanding that adjustable plates will raise the car slightly, and if I cut the springs to bring it back down it will make it stiffer. I currently have the fixed camber plates. My my questions are, how badly do the Bavaria arms make the car follow grooves in the road? (Trammlining?) And how much worse is tire wear under normal driving? The car is a sunny day driver, and sees 1-2 Auto-x a month during the nicer months Thanks, John
  13. Not sure what place in line I would be, but interested
  14. Coming to Portland or Longview anytime soon? I won't be able to get to Seattle for a bit. OR I'm willing to through a few extra bucks if your willing to drop it at my sister-in-law's in the Northgate/Greenwood area.
  15. Intersted if logistics fall through for halboyles. Where in PNW are you, I'm in Portland area.
  16. Any idea of the offset on the Octavo wheels?
  17. I missed the part about pick up only. DAMMIT!
  18. Great info guys! I know I am camber challenged, I have the fixed camber plates that add a little, but nowhere near what is needed. This is mainly a street car, and going stiffer on springs isn’t what I would prefer to do, as it is already pretty firm, so I may just have to live with the compromise. Also so I haven’t gone adjustable camber plates as it is my understanding they raise ride height a bit. I have thought about Bavaria lower control arms though.
  19. Thanks for the reply Doug! I was wondering if the front hole was too aggressive, so I went conservative but I guess it doesn’t hurt to try. Now I’ll just need to figure out the corresponding amount to move the rear links forward to get the same balance.
  20. Hello, Swapped from ST sways to Ireland, and was wondering how people are setting them up. I have the front on the outer holes, the rear started 3/4 from the ends like IE recommended to start. I slid the rears in about another 3/4 inch and it seems to have neutralized the understeer. After seeing pics from autocross it still seem to have more lean than I thought. I am thinking of moving the front to the inner holes and adjusting the rear accordingly. Which hole are most people using on the front? The rest of my setup is Billy Sports and Bav Auto springs Any feedback is appreciated, Thanks, John
  21. Not sure what the going rate is, but I felt ok with his price. He’s not far from me and I needed one quickly as I was trying to make an auto-x this last weekend....which I did.
  22. Nice work! Funny you mention sway bars, it was my first trip out with the IE swaybars. Suspension Techniques before. The IE bars are noticeably stiffer, but with the faster corner speeds they give, my body roll is about the same!
  23. Surprised to hear that. The Toyo RA-1 is very popular at my local auto-x. I ended going the SS595 Federal (Legends tire) due to the better life and better wet than the Toyo.
