  1. So you're referring to the eye of the MC itself, not the bolt holding it in?
  2. 3rd tow with this car... This time, I lost the clutch pedal and the whole pedal flopped towards the seat. At the time I didn't realize it, but the bolt holding the MC to the clutch pedal had worked itself free. Threw the bolt back in at home and it was good to go. There isn't a ton of purchase on the threads after I tighten the bolt down. Should I throw some loctite on there for good measure? At least the bumpers look good!
  3. Bumper works continues...Test fit the rear only to find that my exhaust sits too high and contacts the underside of the bumper, also causing the bumper to sit too high. Quick trip to my local muffler shop made for an easy fix. Also, served as a reminder that I need to learn how to weld!
  4. I just picked up a filter king and gauge from I.E and I plan on mounting it on the firewall, similar to this setup: My question is regarding the routing of the fuel lines back to the carb from this location, and where/how I should mount the pressure gauge? Does anyone have close ups of a similar install? Can I run a 90 degree fitting off of the carb and a 90 at the filter and connect the two? Or should I just snake a line from the carbs to the filter and call it a day? Crude drawing with my setup, for reference Thanks!
  5. Got Blunts Euro bumper kit installed on the front side (still waiting on the over riders to show up) Overall, really satisfied with the way it came out. The cover plates and plugs do the trick until I can get the bodywork done Time to do the rear bumper
  6. I think it's designed so that if it got hit, the carriage bolt would slide out of the slotted bracket that it's bolted into...in theory. Edit: Nevermind, the tabs go the wrong way. I think I have to bolt it in regardless as there really isn't a way for me to get the angle correct without it.
  7. Spoke with Blunt, looks like they need to be flexed into place Now the question is ....hole number 1, 2 or 3 (one being the top) I got it mocked up to fit into the first hole, but it's still a little too high for my liking, so I'm going to shoot for #2.
  8. They can only go in one way. If you flip them, the threaded portion of the bracket is opposite the mounting hole.
  9. So I'm in the process of installing the Bluntech kit, and for whatever reason, my bumper dives forward more than it should. The brackets are very level, but it seems as if the whole bumper itself is tipped forward somehow? When I put the side wings on, they're about 1" to 2" to high. Anyone have any tips on how to level it out without having to bend the brackets or SS bumper? Here's a view without the side blades:
  10. It's a terrible steering wheel. I'll take it off of your hands and dispose of it properly...
  11. Awesome video @joebarthlow. My bluntech bumpers are in the mail, so the timing is perfect!
  12. Depending on where you got your CV joint kits, you may want to consider getting the proper clamps from Belmetric. I know the I.E kit comes with standard hose clamps. This thread is helpful for size and model:
  13. Looking for a driver quality set of front bumper overriders for a early model/euro bumper set up. Thanks in advance!
  14. I picked up the set that Blunt sells, they work well, and look relatively period correct. No binding issues either. BluntTech Industries • SEAT BELT KIT WWW.BLUNTTECH.COM A budget friendly option for replacement 3 point front seat belts. These aftermarket belts include hardware and work for either driver or passenger side application. Price is per side.
  15. Awesome story, it's cool to see some 02' love on Jalopnik.

  17. My high speed whistle takes the cake. I've taped up the entire front end of the car, and still haven't found it.....
  18. If it makes you feel any better, I had the same break in my left handle playing touch football....I was 16.
  19. I believe they call that an "Overwater Bungalow".
  20. Similar problem as well - My car ran in the red with any sort of freeway driving, and under excessive engine load. Replaced the thermostat, and back flushed the radiator several times, but to no avail. Eventually ended up replacing the water pump, and the radiator, and when I pulled the old radiator, it was clear that it needed to be replaced (I could have recored it as well). Now, it runs at 3:00 in all driving conditions. FWIW - I drove it for about a year with the cooling issue, with a couple trips in the red zone, and it didn't seem to harm anything.
  21. Tell me about it...all I can see in that picture is my mismatched radiator houses (silicone & rubber)
