  1. Very nice. Too bad you're on the other side of the country...
  2. I like the rule requiring that the seller include the price, or else the ad is deleted. Would love to see that here.
  3. I need one too. But the shipping for W&N is what's stopped me from ordering one so far. Anyone in the Bay Area want to order from W&N together?
  4. I just went through this not too long ago. My euro lights didn't have the spring loaded setup in the front, where the red arrow in the picture above points to. I used a bulb holder from AutoZone with two posts (like the one in the US turn signals), fit that in to the big hole where the bulb goes, then wired both lights to the bulb holder. There's a writeup here somewhere.
  5. Doesn't look terrible, but if you don't do the work yourself, it'll cost at least a few thousand, if not more. (Labor hours for shops here in the Bay Area are expensive!) Does it have sentimental value to you? Could that money be better put towards another car/project?
  6. I'd check out Motorspeed West in Santa Clara. A bit of a drive for you, but they are familiar with our cars.
  7. To me, the seller can do what they want or think is fair - first to respond via PM, first to respond on a thread, or even first to pay. I've missed out on items I've wanted to buy lots of times, but I never begrudge the seller for doing what they want with their OWN item.
  8. I would just keep tabs on the comments on the BaT page for that car. There are a few knowledgeable people who chime in there. I was wondering if the owner of that car is a member here...
  9. The service manual mentions using "Molykote-paste G" when reinstalling/reconnecting the exhaust manifold and the front exhaust pipe. Is there something similar I can use? Or should I try to find a tube it somewhere? Wondering if there's anything better / cheaper / more readily available now, as compared to when the service manual was written. Thanks.
  10. @otto - I'm in the same boat myself - looking to tackle the exhaust side of things, from the manifold to the tailpipe. I acquired a tii exhaust manifold that I'm planning to put in. (Actuallly, I ended up acquiring two but that's another story.) Haven't yet decided on the center and rear components yet. I'm leaning towards the IE stainless setup because it won't rust (unlike the stock one I currently have). Would be curious to hear what you end up doing, and why.
  11. Can someone loan me some money? http://www.rmsothebys.com/pa17/paris/lots/1974-bmw-2002-tii-alpina-a4s/1701751 "195 bhp, 1,998 cc OHC inline four-cylinder engine with fuel injection, five-speed manual G transmission, independent front suspension with coil springs, McPherson struts, anti-roll bar, and telescopic dampers; independent rear suspension with coil springs, semi-trailing arms, anti-roll bar, and telescopic dampers; and four-wheel ventilated disc brakes. Wheelbase: 2,499 mm One of the most exciting variants of the 2002 platform Just over 30,000 kilometers from new Garnet Red Metallic and fitted with Recaro Sport Seats Modified to A4s specification by Alpina, and fully certified Considered the definitive sports sedan, the BMW 2002 transformed the company into what it is today. With roots branching into the ‘New Class’ of family sedans first offered in the early 1960s, with four-cylinder, single-overhead camshaft engines, these vehicles defined BMW for years to come. The success of these cars cannot be understated. During the 12-year model run, a total of 398,434 were built, including 196,845 2002s between January 1968 and June 1975.The A4S could be had for roughly twice the price of a standard 2002. However, many would argue that the premium was well worth it for the added performance, as power was increased to 195 horsepower. Originally finished in Garnet Red metallic with a fabric interior, chassis number 02735630 was born as a 2002 Tii and immediately built to Alpina A4S specifications. Even in standard form, the 2002 has always been considered as one of BMWs most enjoyable cars to drive. The Alpina A4s ratchets up the excitement even more, as one of the rarest and most desirable variants of the 2002. It would hold pride of place in any enthusiast’s garage, or better yet, on the open road!"
  12. Interesting. While "angel eyes" are a sought-after mod in some BMWs that didn't come with them (e.g. E36s), it doesn't look quite right on a 2002. Just my opinion. I'd definitely consider a version without them, though, depending on the usual factors - cost, work involved in installing, etc.
  13. I'd be curious to hear how it works. Keep us posted.
