  1. Same boat. Have a three piece dash from a 68 that needs attention. So I to saw that just dashes want a small fortune to redo a dash and started looking at options. Stiched and non stitched covers are my last choice. I did see a polyvance video on YouTube that goes into the process of a repair. I’m intrigued, anyone try this approach? https://youtu.be/_x8qtvG-Y8U
  2. Used or new. Have seen them for sale at VAC and Bimmerworld, looking for a better price. Thanks Dionk

  5. Y Jim It’s bitter sweet for sure. I was discouraged and briefly contemplated selling off the project. The budget I’m now using for a professional paint job was earmarked for new engine. I’ll make due with the engine I have for a while. The car is now at Hardcore Hotrods in Sterling, VA awaiting their assessment and quote. Cringe.....
  6. With mixed emotions and must say after 1 yr of trying to get the paint and body work done myself with my friends help, I’m throwing in the towel. Im sending Derby to some professionals to figure out the paint and bodywork. I’m still roughly sticking with the original color of Derby Grey (Griogio medio). here are some pics of derby leaving home ?? 1BE59B9A-DC65-40C1-8248-694E83E45026.MOV
  7. Hi all seeking some assistance- Anyone know what this cam is - I called webcam they weren’t sure and asked me to find more markings. Before I hop in the car and drive to the sellers location (1.5 hr round trip) I wanted to ask if anyone here knows. hard to tell if it says 40. 4.0. Or 4-0 Thanks in advance
  8. I've noticed that on my 1968 1600-2 that I have extra supports on both insides of the trunk (see picture) however in my 1971 2002 those supports are no longer there. At first I though that they were something welded in along its 50 year life. Then I searched other images of trunks and saw that there are indeed other cars with this as well. Anyone know what years these “side supports” were included and why were they removed?
  9. Those Look like recaro “Specialists”. - I had a set. Very comfortable- especially with a neck pillow.
  10. Greetings - I’m in need of a cheap used rear subframe mount. I had to destroy one (see pic) to get the old rear subframe to drop from my project car. I’m swapping ina new ones on my project car, but I need a cheap used one just to remount the old rear subframe on my parts car. Got one? Thanks Dionk
  11. Thought I’d post an update. Luckily my buddy that’s helping me is willing to redo rework when we are not happy with something. So the painting continues. Paintedbthe calipers red with VHT and VHT high heat primer. Not a fan. Sanding them back down and going with the VHT “Real Orange” Interior and bottom of the car has been sanded, cleaned and painted with POR15. It never goes as fast as you think it will but, I have not lost faith. Adding a little more Italian. In that I’m still accumulating goodies as well latest addition- pictured below. Brand new MOMO prototipo! Hand made in Italy. Seriously beautiful! And a nice compliment to the Ferrari Grigio Medio paint. Happy new year 2002 friends.
  12. Thanks guys. I have casters and a welder friend. Two questions 1. Where do you get the metal? Home Depot? Lowe’s? 2. How are you attaching them to the car? I assume you are bolting it through the subframe bolt holes? thanks
