  1. Keep in mind that the ti advance of 39 was designed around fuel availability in 1970s Germany, i.e., leaded 98. I have a ti motor with 40's and the tii style dizzy. 33 to 35 gets me about 10 at idle.
  2. 38 all in is a bit on the high side for a street motor, depending on CR and fuel quality. I use 33 all in at about 3000rpm. You could try increasing slightly from there listening for pinging (which is hard to hear with dual webers). YMMV
  3. I have one ujoint, one 4 ear at front, one three ear at back.
  4. I've not seen that bracket on two long neck cars. I had 4 ear flange welded onto long neck driveshaft.
  5. Keep in mind that you can flood the engine pretty quickly pumping twin 40s. I'd looking into fuel pressure reg as suggested. It could go in the tank area with filter and pump. Do you have the plastic spacer sleeve on the tank outlet pipe? How about timing? What is that stuff on the battery terminals?

  7. A light but firm tap just to break the initial seal. Be VERY careful not to let the treads touch the crank surface. Plastic tubing works nicely

  10. Another good idea - pickup clogged solid. But i suspect some serious problem caused it to be parked. As above why do you think gasket is bad?
  11. If you insist on turning over more, pour oil over cam and rockers and somthing into plug holes. Just a little
  12. Boy, I just cringe at the thought or turning it over so long with no oil pressure. Hard on crank and cam.
  13. We taught that there are two early apexes and the rest are late by varying amounts. It appears you are turning are turning in early in some places and then having to correct.   14. I first went in 1983 and went 24 times as a student., coach, and eventually as organizer for US group. The fun-polizei eventually ended that. Wonderful times.
  15. I'm fine with the c-clamp. I'm thinking about applying even contact on the bolt hole edge with a 3/8 square hole.

  17. There are some fussy c-rings. Did they get on? Generally those cvs last a long time.
  18. So noise started after you rebuilt? doing your own was not a mistake. Not brain surgery. You could revisit your work, or buy one new one, try one of our supporter - blunt, Rogerstii, maybe ireland
  19. I thought the dimple around the hole (so to speak) would bulge upward in your photo. If so, and assuming you are using the solid end of the socket, how does the square drive hole contact the bolt hole? What's in the duct tape? And C- clamp will move it?
  20. So the bolt is pulling it flat? Can I do that in a vice I wonder.
