  1. Nice plate frame. I just found the rear one in my trunk hiding in a tote. My says PASADENA bottom portion reads GERMAN CAR then PARTS AND SERVICE really small. My front plate frame matches but is in horrible shape. CONGRATS on your new arrival.
  2. Wondering if you still had these available ? and what city u in ?
  3. Politics always seem to spark "debate" even amongst us car buffs . The bottom line is, Californias love us our cars. Lets all unite, find some friendly car smoggers, and continue to drive what we ultimatley wanna drive. Lets be real, everyone knows a guy, who knows a guy who will pass your car. We are going to pay $$$ in the end, whether its fines, $200 bux for a friendly smog checker, $25000 for a prius, or taxes for a new "clean bill act". Sheesh, lets keep it friendly here, and form a possie , ...and get rid of tree huggers, PITA and clammy pale vegans who think a NON GLUTTON, organic, veggie wrap is the same as an in/out burger.
  4. My wifes 92 prelude has a motor swap, mods, no cat, and will never be able to pass smog, $180.00 every other year at a "friendly" smog place isnt breaking the bank, but it does suck.
  5. "it let's my wife know how much money I really save us by working on our cars." Love this. I lucked out with my lil lady. She doesnt mind getting down and dirty... with the cars that is. She also realizes the savings when we do the work our selves, and also knows when its dealer or real mechanic time.
  6. I normally do this with my honda, and other vehicles i've owned, but since these boots are a little different, i kinda paranoid about someone loosing the pin bearings, or using the wrong parts as they are not ball bearing type half shafts, plus if i can do it, and save some money i dont mind getting durty with it.
  7. Gotcha. thanks. Also, been checking out some youtube vids on CV boot tools, homade tools, and the easiest most cost effective seems to be the cone shaped plastic "slide-a-boot" tool. Kinda looks like a oil funnel. I think im going to try making my own and see how it goes, then i'll post some pics up and a maybe a little synopsis of what i did....if it works out. stay tuned. gotta thank you again Chris for your write up !
  8. thanks Chris, i did in fact drop the needle bearings. *sighs* found em all, luckily i dropped them on my work table. As far as cleaning goes, just a clean rag, no solvent or anything ?
  9. Great write up ! I finally took mine off last night. Question, my u joints seem to be in good condition, there is no play on both left and right sides. 1 what are some other ways i can tell if my u joints are bad ? I'd like to address this problem while they are out. 2 i seem to have some debris inside where my bearings sit (leaves, maybe some dirt/road debris) How should i go about cleaning them up before i put the new boot and gear oil ? 3. are the boots / clamps / rings still available for 1600 ? part #'s would be greatly appreciated. (68 1600 long neck diff)
  10. nice trailer, pretty pricey but worth the lack of weight.
  11. I heard that it was for car hops so they can rest the tray of burgers and fries on it. Sorry, im just fat and hungry and it seems like the only logical "im a fatty" explination.
  12. yes it does, and the chrome trim on the dash. I just dont want to order the wrong part # I.E. like the rear brake shoes has like 3 part #'s the shoe itself, the rivets, and the half moon where the shoe pad mounts to. confusing for me, i dont know too much about ordering part #'s and such.
  13. No i have not, i'll take a gander today. thank you for your input.
  14. I am looking at realoem for part #'s for my 68 1600. it was built between Sep to Dec of `67 according to the vin 1560238. Do I really need to know the specific month it was built to find the correct part # ? trying to take advantage of Bluntech's awesome sale but i need part #'s for below... thank you in advance. all four wheel bearings (front & rear) All four brakes including rotors/pads & drum/shoes/piston rebuild kit *i need to replace the bleeders as well for all four sides drive shaft drop down bearing rear axle rebuild kit for both left and right axles *i have a long diff, with the clear boot and ujoints at either end. Not the cv-joint with the ball bearings oil filter (if you stock those) air filter (if you stock those) fuel filter thermostat
  15. SOLD ! send me your mail to address and i'll put em in the mail ASAP. you can shoot me a money order jasony 08 80 at yahoo dot com
  16. sounds like it could be a bad wheel bearing or possibly a bad tire as well. Maybe do a quick looksie at the tires just to rule that out. BTW : @ 24 seconds into vid, nice dirty look to the car that slowly pulled over without a signal ....haha. gopro camera ?
  17. Hey Steve, i have a somewhat of a wayyy noob question. Can i send you my vin #, year make and model, and a parts list without part #'s that i need to the sales email ? I dont know all the part #'s if any.
