  1. My 02 interior sunroof panel is not there...was not there when I bought the car. So I have been trying to find one with no luck. So I figure I can actually make one. Just wanna know some dimensions. maybe a pic of one outside the car, and how it attaches to the sunroof. I am guessing it attaches to the front of the sunroof where there are holes , probably some sort of clips or tabs on the panel. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. I am tired of staring at the inside of my sunroof. Thx in advance!
  2. I posted there....No replies. Besides. Someone who does not have one to sell MAY know where to get one.....right? So why not post in both places. So since I posted here someone else chimed in needing the same part...if a source is found it will help 2 people here...just one in the WTB section....
  3. Looking for the interior sunroof panel. Can be with or without the headliner material. john@project2002.com
  4. I am looking for the interior sunroof panel. The one that attaches to the sunroof itself. Anyone have one or know where I can get one? Here is a pic of the sunroof now.
  5. Hmmm.....I do have an old engine and a transmission....damn Le don't tempt me....i do want a roundie....Leme think on it....
  6. Yeah, those pics didnt make me wanna buy it....You can find nicer ones in the 3k range I think. But in my opinion, you will be looking at ones that run really well...or ones that look really well...not both. Not for 3k....So if it runs good and you dont mind it being a bit ugly, then thats what you get. You usually dont get both for 3k and the ones that tell you its both sometimes turn out to be neither. My advice...find a car with as little rust as possible. None on the shock towers. None on the floorpans. No accidents. Then get it checked mechanically by someone who knows 2002s. This will let ou know EXACTLY whats wrong with it. It could be minor or major, but most 33+ year old cars need something, and most people selling 33+ year old cars dont fix everything before they sell them, they wont make any money. So if you know this going into it then great. I bought a very nive one in december for 3k. But I just replaced almost everything mechanical. It didnt NEED it. I wanted the peace of mind of reliability. But the original engine ran, but smoked, had good compression, and burned a bit of oil....needed a clutch. But body was in good shape and very little rust. I could have put a clutch in it and drove it for years like that...but I was looking for more performance and alot of reliability so I put the money into it. Now its an amazing car to drive...and dependable. Good luck with your search...good ones are out there!
  7. Is it worth the 3 hour or so drive from Orange County? Anyone here going? What about vendors? I need a ton of little things for my 02....will there be deals? Have not heard much chatter about it here so I thought I'd ask....
  8. Not feeling the work....looks like a hack job....
  9. I'll take the door panel....is it passengers side? Looks like a drivers side....I'll take it....
  10. Make sure you post pics!!! I was going to go with those wheels, but the offset makes me think they wont fit the fenders of a lowered car without at least rolling the fenders.
  11. Drop me an email.....I may be interested.... john@project2002.com
  12. I'll reply, but this is in the cars for sale section..... The automatic didnt perform well, and wasnt efficient. The engine worked harder. So a 4 speed or even better a 5 speed will make you car work less to do the same...when on the freeway it'll cruise better as well as get better mileage. Also parts are MUCH cheaper to find in the long run. It's not easy to find good auto tranny's and they can be expensive to rebuild. So your mechanic is right, spend the cash on upgrading the car for the better, vs spending it to retain the auto...nowid you dont like driving a stick...then thats a different decision.
  13. I have a 284 cam and a e21 head. 9.5:1 compression ratio.
  14. If you want it lower...you can remove all spring pads in the rear, about an inch lower, then cut about half a coil off the front springs....that should get you even lower...but I sometimes scrape the underside of the car on tall speedbumps so I am not sure you want it much lower.
  15. Thanks to your advice Blunt, no rubbing or weird noises at all..used rubber tubing on all coils touching metal.
  16. As I have learned so far on the M10, head/cam work usually does more for your higher rpm performance...helps it rev higher and breath better at higher RPM's. To get more torque usually you need to mod the block, and/or pistons. So you should see similar torque, but be freer revving and more higher RPM power. For example..before my new engine, I hit a wall about 4k RPM...it would continue to rev, but slow....Now my new engine revs all the way to 6500 fast....new top end...cam, 38/38 and headers.
  17. Planning on running vegetable oil? Those 80s MB Diesels can be converted very cheaply to run on used vegetable oil....You can pick it up from McDonalds free...when you drive by it'll smell like french fries.
  18. I was going back and forth whether the back was too low...I added the upper 2 dot spring pad and left the lower one off....well I took some shots and I am convinced...its perfect in my eyes...so here it will stay for a while....here are some pics of the car as it is...the car runs really well and I am just about done mechanically...I have some e21 Recaros with my name on them coming soon...and maybe a carpet kit....then we can tackle the exterior....Here is the car after a fresh wax...cleans up pretty good....
  19. "M3" starter. Lighter and more torque, especially advantageous on tii and other high compression engines. If you do a search on this site, you will find that this issue has been discussed numerous times. Sweet...I do have a high compression engine.....looks like the M3 starter is the one.
  20. I hear about M3 starters, 7 series, 3 series...which starter should I use and why? Is there any advantages to the M3? I know its lighter, how is the power, durability? basically I wanna know why I should use one starter over another and which one will be best for my 2002....Thx.
  21. Another one?????? Damn....I just got this one in the car......Hmmmm....
  22. There used to be an outfit that sold these on ebay...I cant for the life of me find them now. It was maybe a month or 2 ago when I saw it, now I cant find it even in the closed auctions. But they did multiple styes in multiple colors at a very reasonable price...Had about 5 different M Motorsport designs....then various black.
  23. i do have enough darker blue for a set... I may be interested!!!!! Will email you in a few days.....
