  1. I need to redo my Navy Blue interior and I wanna start with the carpet....Whats the nices kind? I have seen one piece molded...and also multi piece as well as Esty's custom fabs...whats the nicest? Also easiest to install and what will look the best and last the longest...lol...oh and the least expensive! Pics would be awesome....thanx.
  2. So what am I looking for...windows are hard to roll up, especially when its cold. I want it to be nice and smooth to roll up and down. Is there a rebuild for the window mechanism? Is it an adjustment? Thanks in advance.
  3. Sure about that? I just read a book that said the Ti used a 300 degree cam....I thought that was pretty aggressive...but a 264 seems a bit mild...especially for dual 40 sidedrafts.....
  4. Could be something simple like that...but also check your motor mounts and trans mounts....Mine did the same thing but it was the transmission mount that went causing the the condition.....
  5. Looking for Recaro LS seats...preferably in blue but any condition and color will be considered.....Here is a pic of what I am looking for....
  6. Coast Motor Werks in Huntington has been VERY good in my book. Ron the owner has a few 02's and ALOT of M Cars. Knows his stuff and is fair.
  7. I used to have those in my old 2002....20 years ago...LOVED those seats...bought them new. I wish I could find a set for sale now!!!!! Same color.
  8. I have sorta seen the pics of Recaro seats that were black with blue and white stripes....anyone have those seats or pics of those seats? I am thinking those would look very good in my Fjord blue 2002.....thanx.
  9. Funny there is NOT ONE pic of the glove box area......thanks anyway.
  10. Looking for how well it fits on the car and how it looks around the glove box area.....thanks in advance.
  11. Damn Le.....I just need to sign my checks over to you...lol....send me pics as well....
  12. Before you blame all 2002s. Maybe you should have gotten the car checked out before buying it. A good running 2002 will not burn through a whole "tank" of oil in 300 miles. If it indeed was at normal levels and then was dry in 300 miles you should have seen either lots of oil under the car or lots of smoke out the back. Most likely there wasn't qlot I oil in the car when you bought it. Your starting issue can be lots of things. Loose connections to bad engine. It could all be related. It's a 33+ year old car so you have some parts that are that old. If you want bulletproof reliability then replace drivetrain and electronics with new or rebuilt parts. Oh and don't forget suspension.
  13. OK....I am going to use my 5 speed money to do the DCOE's......damn....
  14. I went with the 38/38.....less money, drivability and about the same HP.....the DCOE's are very sexy though......
  15. My new engine will be undercarb'd with my 32/36...its got 9.5:1 Compression and a 284 cam....I also have Ireland 4 into 1 headers....so what carb setup should I use? I want drivability, but a cool setup as well...will be my weekend car mainly...occasional 5 mile commutes.
  16. My new engine needs more carb than my 32/36 so I am looking for a Dual DCOE 40 setup.... Shoot me an email if you have a setup. john@project2002.com
  17. I'll Take It!!!!!! email sent....
  18. Well yes and no...... Its even harder to find out how much of a drop a car will have on the EXACT same setup. I have Ireland Stage II springs and Bilstein Sports....Its lower than ALOT of peoples cars with the EXACT same setup. So the thing is these cars can vary alot. From old parts, bent parts, etc....so its a tough thing to say definitively what will work on one car and what will not work on another. There is some experimentation that goes into it all.
  19. OK...so I am on the verge of attacking the interior and I plan on doing the stereo system. My PLAN is to use a Vintage 70's era head unit...then modify it to take an iPod input and possibly even have iPod control so I can mount the iPod in the glove box out of sight. Then add a 4 channel amp to drive a nice set of front and rear speakers. The IDEAL way this would work is to have the radio volume knob functional. I wouldnt mind actually using the AM/FM radio as well. So the problem is getting input from the iPod to the head unit. Any ideas? Has anyone else embarked on such a task?
  20. In my first 2002...a 76 with the stock solex and headers...I was able to get to 110 quite easily. Funny....my friends all thought that a 20 year old BMW was no match for a brand new Geo Metro convertible.....I won a good amount of cash with that bet....lol....In this 2002...80 is about the max I have gotten because the motor is not at all sorted out....I think I got 85 downhill on the Grapevine on I5....but even in its current state...it ran UP the grapevine at 80 no problems.....
  21. OK...so I installed the upper 2 dot pads in the rear...no lower pads. and I am pretty happy with the change. It may be JUST a tad bit low still...but I think adding the lower pad also will raise it up too high.....so for now....I think I may stick with this....I am curious though what height the 1 dot upper pad and the lower pad would produce....
  22. WOW...well glad you are not more seriously hurt.....get checked out very well and do follow ups...also DONT settle anything until you are free of all aches and pains. Some injuries take time to be realized and insurance companies know that and try and do settlements BEFORE that happens. Its very tough to reopen cases...Get well soon!
