  1. awesome. contrats and i can't wait to hear how it turns! shoot some pics when you can.
  2. i put a small hole in the back of the filter and ran the "elbo" piece in and screwed the end piece on the inside. put cover on and works great. i did see a pic a while back of an engine bay where a guy ran the hose to a custom container with a k&n breather filter on top and attached to the fire wall on the driver's side. pretty cool. i may try that someday. i'll post pics when i get home.
  3. i have the same thing going on with mine right now. it would be interesting to see a pic of the strut spacers in the rear. anyone have any?
  4. looks great! let's see some outside pics
  5. nice ride there Senna27. some good responses here. i'm runnin Bridgestone Turanza's on 13x5.5 steelies. they are getting a tad dry rotted around the walls. so i think i'm going shopping soon. just like hearing what some others have tried. thanks guys.
  6. that's awesome! good news always makes the day go better.
  7. to my knowledge about 2020 lbs. depending on add on's/take off's
  8. the guy that had my car before me had the car painted and some point and decided to put a badge on the trunk so that when he shut the trunk he wasn't slamming on the lid itself. i kinda see why he did it but i don't much care for it.
  9. when you talk about pre-loading are you speaking in terms of the comfort of the ride or in the height of the front end? thanks for the replies
  10. i have just completed rebuilding my front end. tierods, centerlink (1st phase) ball joints, ctrl arm bushings, other various bushings, strut bearings and sachs/boge strut inserts (second phase). the second phase was done at a bimmer shop in cinci. i am not real impressed with how the strut inserts feel. i didn't want to put in heavy duties because it is a daily driver. wanted it to be a smoother ride. however, it rides really rough. hard over the bumps. almost as if they were the same blown out inserts that i replaced. does any one use these inserts? i thought they would give me a much softer feel. also my front end is raised as high as it was before i removed the strut spacers. any advice/opinions would be greatly appreciated.
  11. looks great. i need to get a pair of those euro turn sigs. like thse wheels!
  12. bwaaaahahahaha! i had a squeak but it was on the drivers side (could be the same on the opposite side). turned out it was the cozy wing frame. it was the part of the triangle window frame that goes into and screws into the door. i shot some WD40 in there and it's never came back. also had one on the glove box latch like wit61. just go haywire with the WD on anything metal on metal or screwd down.
  13. mine is 254.00 every 6 mos. for fullcoverage, $500 deductable, daily driver '73. i have one other car and renter's ins. on the plan.
  14. mine is in the shop for the final stage of front end rebuild. ball joints, strut inserts/bearings and various bushings. i HATE not having my car! it was supposed to be done friday, will be done monday. it is running pretty well at this point though. it's a daily driver so i keep up on it pretty regularly. happy birthday Jim! we will have to celebrate with a drive soon! we'll hook up with Mike and CD.
  15. hardware bag (with the 3 light cymbal stands. the seat base, snare stand and a couple other are the heaviest), seat and cymbals in trunk. 18, 10, 12, 14 and snare in back seat. that is an estimated weight but i bet it is close to that. it is a small jazz kit even.
  16. for me i just put rear shocks on mine. i drive at least 2 days on the weekend with 200 lbs of drums in the back seat and trunk. i want to stiffen my springs or raise them so that it's not sagging as much. i like the idea of putting the strut spacers in the rear, might give it a try.
  17. can you tell us where to get those rear spring pads?
  18. electronic ignition, 8mm plug wires, starter, alternator....any thing bolt on.
  19. on mine the tab does not stay on the wheel, it holds itself on the steering column (?). if it comes off with the wheel, remove it and put it on the steering column by hand just past the 3 o'clock position like between 3 and 4. if it's directly on 3 it cancels left signaling early. after i put mine on by hand i lightly tap on it with a screw driver evenly around all sides. that is my experience with mine. have had it off dozens of times.
  20. one might think. that would explain the buzzing but no i haven't. it actually happened.
