  1. Nice work Andrew, like Tom says, the car is coming together very well and I am sure it will be a blast once it is all complete. Your documentation of the build up is greatly appreciated as I go forth with my project. Todd
  2. Ditto for the diff install! This project sounds mad... more information please! Todd
  3. I got a replacement... there are wrinkles... there are blemishes, it cost we $890AUD... they were $1200... I got a good deal. It was better than what it replaced. Todd
  4. I think you need to put a barbeque in that front section... then you can cook up bratwurst where ever you please! Todd
  5. I would do it all again and I would do it right from the start, take more pics, get a whole lot of ziplock bags and put each screw, bolt whatever ina bag with a mark of where it came from. Preparation at the start it was makes it so much easier to go back together. Lucky I have a pretty good memory or I would have slit my wrists ages ago!
  6. Did you start it??? Nice work none the less! You have got to drive down to see me when its all done! Todd
  7. Matt army green! Do it! Even better, camo!
  8. Cool work... looking forward to you driving down to say G'day!
  9. TWO THUMBS UP!!! Where is your project blog!?!
  10. The guy in the silver car is on here - US4### or similar... Does this bring the count up to 71 worldwide as well? Nick, does the Tour de France come near you this year?
  11. Blunt will look after you! unkorama@gmail.com - tell him Todd sent ya! :-P
  12. How about if I run something like Ground control coils, stregthened front and rear subframes, strut tower braces, standard rubber bushes... should I stress about too much flex? I just spent a mint on paint and want a good fun street car that I can take for a rip on the track when I feel like some fun - I dont want cracks and saggy doors after giving it a fair go on the track... Cheers, Todd
  13. WOW! Is that you in the pic? Where did you learn your craft!?! What I would give to have skills like that... totally in awe! Cheers, Todd
  14. I will look on my old mobile phone to see if I have their number. My mate was looking and Im pretty sure this was the car he was looking at, he had a few on the go - also think another dude I know was looking at this one too... he mentioned a burgundy 02 from carsales. It looks like you got a good deal anyway, and you are happy. Thats what is important. Another young bloke for the Vic '02 crew! I'm 23. Todd
  15. I THOUGHT I KNEW IT!!! I recognised the plates... if it is the same car I'm thinking of, he was a student at Uni in Melbourne somewhere. If my memory serves me correct, this car came from WA via eBay, they got it for a steal when the PO had "heaps of trouble with it" - turned out it needed a battery and new plugs... The PO's dad (Glenn I think) had a heap of them, I met him one day when I was on foot, his dad was getting the radiator flushed at a place in Geelong West. I walked past, went back and had a chat to him. He gave me his number to contact him and catch up, but I cant remember where it ever ended up... The owners name was Nat or similar? I saw him once or twice in it and waved, but he wasnt giving me much. His dad knew all about this forum, (back in the old days prior to the upgrade when I couldnt be bothered trying to navigate it...) I'm surprised he isn't around... maybe they sold out of all of their 02 interests... Todd
  16. Where was the car from? What general are are you in?
  17. What is it worth to you? I have a single side draught manifold here that I might be willing to offload - send me an email - todd2002bmw at yahoo.com.au
  18. Two thumbs up... this car will be a real treat to drive! Nice work!
  19. Hehehe, Andy's gone nuts again!!!
  20. I just read what Tom said, he will let you know of everyone that is important to contact about your car... Nice Westy... The 2002 boot is also tops for fitting bikes ;-) Todd
  21. Welcome Sam_Z! My mate looked at that car as his first foray into the '02 shape, but the owner was not too forthcoming with information on the email and he lost interest in it. It looks quite clean... I thought it had twin webers on it though. I'll have to check out my email history for pics ( remember the plate - it was on carsales). The 38/38 should go alright once it is all tuned up and running right - isn't this what Shaun has? We will be more than willing to have you along on one of our runs! Shoot me an email at todd2002bmw (at) yahoo.com.au and I will let you know everything there is to know about the 2002 register - how to make contact with the head of it, etc. It is a pretty good community in Victoria (and the online community here is sensational!), with a number of awesome cars to keep you inspired and wanting more. Best of luck with the car! I look forward to catching up with you soon on a drive if you are really keen! Cheers, Todd
  22. Nice! My mate who is in Dublin will often send me a text message with something like "Just spotted a neat '02 parked in Dublin" Good to see there are people all over the world that are as nutty as me!
  23. Euro bumper squaries... thats what I like! Nice work, looks like fun! Todd
  24. Nice work... always cool to see more action on this car. Didn't you order a CF airbox from the groupbuy on s14.net? Will that solve your problem with the area in the front better?
