Hi Mike...When you first suggested the intake modification, I didn't even realize I needed to do it. Thanks so much for the suggestion...it worked out well.

Jim,

Was that the 100 amp.alternator? That is a bitch to get out.A 320i belt worked best with the extra length needed.

Patina looks great,a little hard not seeing the o.g. patina but she will be a gorgeous one.And by the way you are the 3rd. owner which gives you some 02 status I suppose.

Jonathan

Hi Jonathan...that's the amp that came out of the car. Thanks for the heads up on the belt size.

She's coming together pretty well, and I'm going to be happy when it's all over...hopefully well before V at the V.

Slowly making progress.

Windshields, headliners, doors, tail lights, and some bright trim are installed.

Having a few problems with some NLA parts...but working through the obstacles with Blunt...a great resource.

Some updated photos follow:

The black headliner was an unfortunate mistake. I ordered a headliner from goliners and didn't look at it before the installer installed it. I thought it was white!

I would prefer the white, but the black wound up looking pretty good. An all black interior, with a dark charcoal wool carpet. I think I'll be happy with it all.

When are you aiming to have it back on the road?

Cheers

I thought I have it ready for V at the V...but it won't make it, I'm afraid. I may drive over anyway...I want to see all of the '02's.

Jim;

do you have a close up picture of the headliner? I am curious about the vinyl pattern (diamond, snake-skin etc). Also, how will you match the sunvisors?

TIA

That's the only photo that I have...I didn't even look at the texture.

I dyed the sun visors black to match the headliner...it's dark in there.

I'm getting pretty excited about driving it...rebuilt engine, 5 speed tranny conversion, new differential...with new Billies and beefier sway bars. I've only driven one other 2002...and it was old Rusty.

I am deleting the radio...but may add something later.

Will post some pictures after I take them tomorrow but...

Have installed the recovered dash and steering wheel, all electrical seems to be in order, but found a tail light that needs some work.

All glass and window trim is installed...we are definately getting closer to the end now.

Engine has not been started yet, but will be fired up soon.

Paint will get its final buff out soon, and the new trim will be installed.

The recovered Recaros are home, and will be assembled and installed after the carpet from Esty has been laid.

Engine has not been started yet, but will be fired up soon. As soon as the engine checks out, we'll put the hood on.
