alternator in Dayton, OH (update)

Just an attaboy for Evans Motorworks in Dayton: They found a tii alternator and a new voltage regulator same day (don't know how!) and got me back on the road.

Armin and all were extremely gracious and went out of their way working late and looking in Columbus and Cincinnati for parts. Prices were in line with realoem, etc. and I was happy to have them do the installation while I worked on the computer and got food.

Don't know how much a mention here counts to them, but you might want to check them out since they seemed to appreciate the older cars and the prices were fair.

I am in the Friends of BMW guide in the Dayton area. If you need a place to stay in Dayton, give a call. You're probably long gone by now, though. Evans BMW has hosted our local BMWCCA group very graciously. Good folks.

would have contacted you immediately. That alternator that Evans got came from Mike McCarthy's Foreign Auto Parts store in Huber Heights. He managed to find one and drove it over to Evans--in his 2002--as soon as it arrived at his shop.

I had read your post (but couldn't reply) and called Mike to see if he had a tii alternator. He had already heard from Evans, but they neglected to mention that they needed a tii alternator. When I told Mike he immediately called his supplier to change the order.

Sorry we missed you...as Jim says, we have a pretty rabid '02 group here in Dayton, made more so by only being able to drive our cars about 8 months out of the year.
