Anybody Know This 76' 02?

I bought this car last July off Craigslist out of San Jose. That owner had it for a short time and said he bought from a guy in Las Vegas.

The VIN indicates that it was delivered to a dealer in San Jose.

Other than the luggage rack the only real identifying items are a sticker inside the trunk lid from the 1995 2002Fest in San Luis Obispo and a Bimmer Pilots Association decal on the rear window.

Has blue interior and sunroof had a wind deflector.

Also, it had a white Cali plate that said "2002 PDQ".

At some point someone had a cheap respray done and put a Weber on it.

There was no title with the car when I purchased it. (I now have good MI title).

Post the VIN of this '02; you might find a former owner that way. We all memorize VIN's here.

is this the aluminum pop-up one that folds down when the sunroof is closed? If so, that's the second or third 76 I've heard of/seen with one...never seen a factory installation on anything but a 76, although they were theoretically available on earlier cars--just not US models.

Check with Rob at 2002haus in San Luis Obispo. He works on many '02s, good chance he know this one.

on the '69 ti. It was not a factory option in '69 though, it was bought through a dealership here in Toronto, but I don't know how it ended up there.
