I don't understand the bodywork and the nail thing. To fill in the trim holes, did you weld the nails into the holes? I'm at this point now in my track car project and I'm curious as to how you did this. Can you give details?

That's exactly what I did, find some non galvanized nails with a fairly good sized head at your local hardware store. There are three different sizes of trim hole on you car so you will have to make 3 different sizes. Run one through a bench grinder spinning the shaft until the head is the correct size for the hole you are trying to fill. Make as many as you need for that size and repeat.

Try to get the fit as good as possible, weld them in and then cut the heads off, grind it flush. If you are careful and can keep the heat down you may not need ANY bondo to make them perfect.

Hi, i just scanned your thread, awsome project man, looks very good. are you running ms for fuel and spark or just fuel? turbo or NA? so you have those honda coilovers in the front and rear or just front? Sorry for all the questions, you probably talked about all of this in the thread, but i was lazy and just skimmed over most of it. happy turkey day

dude, you don't need nails to close the holes....

I can teach you how to do it.

I did all of mine with my mig welder they came out perfect. The nails seam like a hassle. It definately works sure but I think it is complicating a simple procedure.

Boxy02, maybe I can come over your house or you came come to my new garage(I'm moving the car and tools there) at my mom's house in burbank.

no offense you did a great job with the nails it's just, mine took all of about 10 sec with the welder, 10secs with the grinder and as you can see It didn't require bondo either.

just 2 ways to skin a cat I guess....

Are you planning to use the springs included in that kit? what weight are they?

I have no idea what spring rate they were I meant to put a plate on them and stand on top while my buddy measured so I'd at least have a ballpark range but alas we forgot. So I ran em anyway. LOL Ride is firm but not teeth jarring.

I made some progress today,

dropped by pick and pull the other day on the way to work with a template of the door stop hole and was looking at some cheap ( that's me ) way to replace the broken door stops on my car.

Ended up getting a couple of rear door early 5 series ones. They bolt right in and fit in the door jam bracket just fine, problem is they are a little on the long side. Easy fix, just cut a piece out and weld it back together. Took me about 1/2 hour to do both of them and cost a whopping 20$ for both.

Couple of pics showing about how much had to go and how I got the length correct.
