13x6 et10 BBS Mahle Fitment Pics

Recommended Posts

I just went from 15x7 basketweaves to 13x6 et10 BBS Mahles, and wanted to post some reference pictures for future '02ers doing wheel research.

  • Upgraded to 205/60 Toyo Proxes RA1s
    • Steering effort is exactly the same, can feel no noticeable difference from the 195/50s Hankook Ventus V2s on the basketweaves.
    • Ride is slightly softer, probably because the thicker tires.
  • Decided to install extended studs, the OEM studs only offered about 4 full lugnut turns.
  • Car is lowered 2" on Bavauto springs and Koni shocks, so the front camber is stock in the pictures.
    • Front stick out slightly., about 10mm in my eyes.
    • I have a set of GC coilovers coming, and will post pics once I can adjust camber and tuck the fronts in a bit.
  • No alignment adjustment has been done in the back, it's just the negative camber from lowering the rear.
  • All fenders are rolled, but not pulled.
  • Front brakes clear no problem.
  • Front strut housing clears no problem, about an index finger's width between the housing and tire.
  • Rears clear no problem as well.
  • Tires are fantastic, super sticky. Definite upgrade from previous all seasons.
  • NO rubbing with the current setup.

Front to back pic, hoping camber adjustment can even out the top portion.

That looks about right-

I had a bunch of zero offset Panasports in 13x6, when the race car had turbo flares on it,

and zero offset would grind off the outside 5mm or so on the street car.

So yes, 10mm inset seems like about the minimum to run those tires...

t

wishes his had been et 10, because then he'd still have them.

For me this is hard to believe but good that it works for you.

Have you tried on track? How about two people on back seat? Wheel turned all the way and over a curb to driveway?

Just put 400kg in the car and have it on blocks FR / RL or FL/RR it will rub.

With my rideheight it would rub standing still and when your suspension works it will rub too unless you add too large bumpstops.

No track time yet, just spirited street driving so far!

No one in the back seat, but did have someone in the passenger seat during the drives.

Wheel turned all the way up my driveway, parking, etc etc, NO RUBBING.

Well, there's rubbing  and then there's just a little touch now and then...

I tried so hard to get those 0 offset Panasports to work, and it really was a matter of a fraction of a centimeter...

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
