'73 tii engine rebuild

Thanks for the help everyone!

I ordered a new set of bearings and all spins good. I got my timing cover on and my new head gasket looks kinda funny. I don't remember the screw holes being there near the fwd lwr timing cover. I know people say to put sealant there but does it look right to you guys? Also should all the cooling jackets holes be opened up?

That gasket doesn't match at all.  Some of the issues - oil will drain on the ground, oil pressure galley supply to the head doesn't match.

A radiator shop is a good place to take a leak.

 

I have no idea what I'm doing but I know I'm really good at it.

Maybe he can use a Dremel on that head to make it more closely match the gasket?

Don't open up the cooling holes they are there to meter the water to the head. And yes on rtv in the two small holes at the head/timing cover joint per the blue book.

If everybody in the room is thinking the same thing, then someone is not thinking.
