Rear Hub Thread Size?

Hopefully a quick one - the rear hub castle nut is 36mm, can I infer the thread is M24x1.5?  I've searched high and low without answer on this one, and it's in the -40Cs for me to go outside and diligently measure things.

 

Long story short, I took my control arms apart to reinforce and powdercoat, then reinstalled the hubs with fresh seals.  The bearings were healthy.  The castle nuts came off but the threads look a little rounded off.  I'd put the elbow grease in to running a die down them now vs. the investment in new hubs.

It appears these might be NLA no longer available from BMW or other sources geez what`s next....actually a thread chaser is a better idea .

You can find new castle nuts from Febi Bilstein 26827. But I find the original one better. The new one is 5 mm lower in height.

Too bad the 36mm aircooled VW ones don't match.
