Ti engine bay decals and placement

Recommended Posts

Hello Friends -

When my Colorado 1970 BMW Ti was repainted, the engine bay decals were lost.

Pics are attached of my bay. Which ones am I missing? Looks like all of them?

Additionally, I understand early or euro cars may have had different placements for these? (Can anyone confirm?)

Apologies if this is redundant, I searched other threads and could not find a source.

If anyone has photos they can share I'd be grateful!

Thanks!
Michael

Do you have any pictures taken before it was sent to the body shop?  Or perhaps from the previous owner?

Sadly no. :(

I believe it's both telling of how BMW viewed underhood stickers -- of no particular importance -- and typical of their weak "1970" approach to quality control that the tire pressure sticker is for "BMW 1600TI/BMW 2002/BMW 2002TI", thus a sticker that was probably designed in the last quarter of 1968, when all three models were actually in simultaneous production.

Thanks and regards,

Steve

The German text at the bottom is precious...US lawyers would have a field day....roughly "for sports driving special restrictions apply. Please take note of the operating manual".

Thanks for the pictures, mine came with wrinkled lumps/remnants in the glove box that I have not replaced...

Would be nice if he came by my engine bay with that suitcase, but for now I'll focus on my throwout arm woes to get back on the road. I like the idea of stickers, but mine is no longer original enough for them to make a difference. Perhaps someone will do a full restore someday, but my kids are already placing dibs ...
