Tii Intermediate Shaft, Is the platform supposed to be bent?

See the circled area in the pic below.  I cannot find any straight on pictures to compare to, but my intermediate shaft has a bend in the platform that holds the three pivot balls.  Is that bend supposed to be there, or is it supposed to be completely flat?

There was a 1970's era 'recall notice' to bend that part to stop in jamming on the induction pipe....bent is correct
