Header Porn

Two words-

Sex Appeal. And thing is dripping in it.

I'd sacrifice a few HP for that. What I don't have is 1700 bucks to sacrifice on a header, sadly.

Oh... if I were a rich man.

Someone with deeper pockets, buy one and throw it on the dyno.

It sure is pretty.  But I question the value a bit...  And its target would seem to be racers, or a very high hp street machine given its sizing.

It's got 1.625" primaries, in a claimed "tri-y" design (looks 4:1 to me, not 4:2:1), with NO tapering/expansion along the pipes, and a 2.25 outlet.  That's BIG.  (Typically a tri-y has increasing diameter from the primaries, to the secondaries to the outlet. As seen in my early Alpina tri-y header with 1.5 primaries, long 1.75 secondaries, and a 2.0 outlet).

And it's $500 more than the also-stainless Supersprint (the gold standard IMO)...

Where we goin’? … I’ll drive…

Were these designed for a specific engine build spec, with the goal of improving performance or changing the exhaust note? Or, are they a bolt-on-to-whatever-M10-you-have sweet-looking stainless steel header? -KB

I asked him about the headers, "intended for 2.0-2.2l, 290-302 cam. Should improve power and torque through the midrange and top end without sacrificing off the line drivability and idle. This is NOT a race-only high RPM header, however it has been used and tested on track with good results"

I made it! They sold out and I didn't buy them.

Did end up ordering a Stahl header (now called ACP),based on the article about the dyno testing. Significantly less. Very pleased

Just do me a favor and please don't tell me when they're available for the s14.  Seriously.

Whew. You and me both, brutha. Bullet, dodged.

I saw the '4 left' post on Insta and contemplated which organs were least necessary... then the one immediately after said 'sold out' and my kidney's/credit card let out a sigh of relief.

I know...

But the motor would look that much more fantastic on a display stand with those headers in my garage when I finally become rich and can afford to EV convert.

I drove my car maybe 500km last year, and so far have only warmed it up around the block and changed the oil this year now that I have a Renault Twizy thou! Holding off on Battery prices to come down, and Germany's laws to catch up to where it doesn't cost 30 grand just to seek testing/approval for road-worthiness of EV conversions.

Or I sell it and buy a used Tesla... one of many options I'm pondering.
