Starting one from scratch may be beyond my capability at this stage but if anyone knows of a fully sorted example that may be up for sale ,I'd like to make contact.

Make everyone happy a modern M10.

How about contracting a solid vested member of the BMW community to build install and sort a modern intercooled turbo M10 with either mechanical or electronic fuel injection. I drove a conversion by Ray Korman that was very well sorted with electronic fuel injection. She ran nice clean cool and docile around town and scooted when you had some room.

Not a commercial for Ray Korman.

(Or a 13b rotary.)

CA Tuned  has done this and made parts, like engine mounts.

I have some bones to pick on CA Tuned and their s2000 parts offering (I have all their stuff on my s2000 swapped 2002). In summary, I would have chosen some other providers.

@Mike A I've done the s2000 swap and have it fully running. LMK what questions you have.

I gave up on the mounts I ordered, I don't want drama so I did it myself with help from people in the 02 community, helping out another F20c swap by shipping him a set of mounts next week, here's me :

It's not for everyone but about the same effort as a m20 conversion

for a street build is the K series motor a better choice?

F20c swap motor kit comes complete and ready to go, K Swap still needs a lot of "Stuff"

F20c usually comes:

Long Block

Transmission

Wire Harness

ECU/ECM

All bolted together

A hotrod M10 will give an F20 a run for its money from stoplight to stoplight.  The center of gravity sits higher and the trans-tunnel does need to be raised a couple of inches to accommodate the higher transmission.

At $5000 for Motor, Transmission, ECU and Harness, that's significantly less than the Hot Rod M10's and 5 speed I've seen lately ??

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,
