  3. The car is a “numbers matching” 1973 Tii. The photos will document its VIN in all the correct locations. We have completed a thorough mechanical and cosmetic restoration with a goal of making it a high-quality original driver, looking and performing as it did when it left the showroom. With some modifications from original for ease of maintenance, it came out as intended. Summarizing in random order as we leaf through the receipts, these items were addressed by being replaced or reconditioned. They are further detailed in the photo portfolio: Engine rebuilt by Sports Car Restoration Details completed by Vintage Sports Restoration All running gear restored/replaced New Front and rear shocks New larger front and rear sway bars Subframes stripped and refinished New front and rear subframe bushings. New master cylinder and cuniform brake lines through out Original steel wheels and hubcaps restored with new tires Spare set of FPS alloys with mounted new tires Tii calipers rebuilt Rear drum brakes refinished and rebuilt with all new parts New rotors and pads New front spindle/hub bearings New Ansa exhaust and new tip Spare set of FPS/BMW alloys w/mounted balanced Falken tires (no center caps) New Odyssey battery New trumpet signal horns Heater box restored with new motor Rear turn signals lens New H4 headlamp conversion w/ new relays harness Steering column switches replaced New classic reproduction radio w/4way speakers All receipts total over 80,000 invested

  9. Thank you Rick for that starting sequence. Took a gamble and replaced the zeitschalter because a. I had one (thanks to a kind fellow member) and b. it was an easy R&R before tackling anything more time-consuming. Lo' and behold , using Rick's starting sequence it fires as new. Thanks to all for the comments.
  10. Anyone interested in late 60s European examples might want to watch Netflix series "Gloria" . Cold war spy thriller in Portugal. Story line is great, screenplay so-so, acting not so hot, BUT... ...the car props are wonderful! The star is a Tilux with a lot of screen time. A 1600 shows up often, as well as a handful of Vws, NSU, Hillman, 2CV, a Triumph sedan, Lotus sedan , and a bunch of others you aficionados will be able to identify. They all look collector quality. Keep your finger on the hold button because the scenes don't last long. Around episode # 7 or so there is a nice set of ta-tas for those of you with more prurient priorities.
  11. Been away, sorry for the delay in responding , thanks for the replies. Getting back under the hood this week using the input.
  12. New rebuilt motor , starts immediately when cold and runs fine but starting when warm/hot is a chore. Was told by people who are supposed to know that this issue points to a malfunctioning cold start valve. Is that pretty much consensus?
  13. Mike and Steve.....Thank you for the reply ,the Pelican pn is 36131114180-M9 This is the piece
  14. Bought a set of hubcaps for the FPS alloys from Pelican. Fitment seems to be an issue. Are they to be mounted from outboard? Inboard? Anyone with the right combination welcomed

    Body work by SCR

No doubt they do nice work. But In 2018 , After committing to do all the mechanical work on my car, SCR did my engine, superior workmanship, couldn’t be happier. Then , after 6 months of holding me up with the balance of the work ,like installing it , they said here’s your engine , we don’t have time, go someplace else. Very disappointed.
