Guys, sorry to jump in so late on this.  I was wondering if you ever followed through and bought 10+ of these kits.  I'd live to purchase one too since I'm having similar issue to all of you with steering play, and worse comes to worse I'd love to have a spare steering box for the long term.  Also, has anyone else installed the new box? Thoughts?

The thread has notes in answer to your question(s). Suffice to say two extremely knowledgeable 02 mechanics bought them.

I charged $325 plus shipping. You can buy them directly for about $450. I doubt I will do another “buy” but if I do, I will post here.

also Ireland is working with the manufacturer for quick ratio gearing but they will have an exclusive.

Thanks Seattle, I am going to drag my feet and see if IE comes up with a 'close ratio' version. That is really what I am hoping for-  more responsive. But if you order a box , I'l certainly like to know how it goes. ... in case IE never makes it happen. Thanks for reaching out. Good luck.

Yes. the originals were painted red.

The ̶c̶a̶p̶s̶  plugs are all red AFAIK, that does not indicate the box is QR.

The QR boxes have the correct part number.

BTW for all of you salivating over QR boxes, I ran one on the street for a few years. Meh.

Cheers,

I fixed that for you, Ray.

I bet your favourite percussion instrument is piano.

But I prefer the harpsichord!
