I read somewhere your body shop (Schatz&Krum) has closed (out of bus).  Did the car get finished? and or have you been able to retrieve it back from them?  I hope so.  That is never a good situation.

 

Edit...I should have started with I am really glad you survived, many folks that suffer from heart attacks don't get a second chance (from one with heart disease and taking a plethora of medications for blood pressure and cholesterol....).

Mark, sorry just saw this.  The body shop has closed but the car remains in Sacramento with Stu doing much the work himself.  I visited it a while ago and will again soon.

 

I'm in pretty good shape, eat ok -- a lot better now -- and exercise a fair amount.  I too have to take too many pills, and more now.  Fortunately, little damage to the muscle.  Thanks for the kind thoughts.  Enjoy your FaceBook posts on your Alpina regularly.

Glad your Ok and the project moves forward.  Honestly I am REALLY bummed I cant get my blog back - it was pretty good I think, I would rather post stuff there than FB and I don't post much of anything related to my car here.  I still have all the images from the Blog (thousands) but none of the content, rest assured its in the '......cloud.....' somewhere.  Google really effed me on it.  Sad thing is, if I could have actually talked to someone instead of swapping emails with someone in India or Vietnam or wherever, probably could have been fixed easily....I digress.  Looking forward to see your project moving forward.

One question about the head from your 2nd to last blog post - it was just finger tight and not torqued down when you sent it out, right?

When the motor was picked up the head was torqued down.  The head gasket is metal and may not look compressed.

The reason I ask is that you mentioned that he was going to port it a bit, but was wondering if he was going to do that with the head mounted to the engine?

The intake manifold is going to be ported, not the head.  Sorry for the confusion.
