That means, the rules are "modern" rules for historic racing and not based on old IMSA rules for example or maybe other North american rules of the days.

By the way, FIA Appendix K rules do not exclude beer :-)

Draconian FIA rulebook? No, I would say the FIA Appendix K is consequent. Everything what was homologated in the time period is allowed. But absolutely NO Innovation. That is easy. The Problem is, most of the guys want to win (there are a lot of professional Drivers on the grid here in germany), so they look more and more to make some Innovation for their Advantage.  The consequence is, more control, more control and a lot more control. And at the end of the day, you think the rules are draconic. But that is the consequence of the idea to save technical history on the racetrack.

This have nothing to do with fun or not, well prepared or not, the target is another.

Minimum weight for this 2.0 liter class is 2000 lbs after race, no driver. With fiberglass and lexan front and rear windows (I sell those), we usually end up 50-75lbs under weight, and then add ballast strategically to help equalize corner weights.-KB
