I bought this project from out in the desert , looks to be zero rust , buggered front fender , nose panel is an easy save. Hood was trash ( axe damage !!! ) so I put on a replacement hood. Engine is a 1978 320i with a nice header & muffler system, pertronix & a 38 38 weber, starts & runs when hot wired , fuel pump works & is hot wired too.Large front sway bar fitted, I replaced the front flex hoses so she has brakes ( I have the rear hose but not fitted it . I have resurrected the paperwork so no fees owing it is on non op , clean Ca title in my name.Pictures tell the story , dusty & spider webs underneath but no rust just dents along the sides. What you see is what you get Inspection is recommended I have driven her around the parking lot so I know trans & clutch work also. I can email photos on request  $1750 vin is 1662691, has a poor paint job on original Tampico . Shop number is 562 698 1227

Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,
